Why are town Hall meetings so impersonal? They are all about awards / the number of people hired. I know FCB health is large, but we never hear from people who aren’t Executives. Last town hall, when discussing inclusion efforts, there were no people of color represented and one of the 4 pillars of diversity was centered around our “reputation as an organization” (that really rubbed me the wrong way). At my last agency those conversations were always led by people of color from every level.
What's the most effective or interesting initiative you've seen at your company for diversity and inclusion?
Do you ever feel like you were a "diversity hire"? Have you ever thought your coworkers thought of you as such? This is an insecurity I battle all the time.
How do we encourage our agencies to hire based on potential, not experience? Everyone wants diversity but everyone wants cookie cutter award-winning creatives too, which often don't necessarily match

It's really pathetic to see guys getting desperate on this bowl and due to such guys all of us get labelled creeps. I can understand you guys are not getting any due to the skewed gender ratio but please maintain some dignity. I am sure if the gender ratio was skewed in reverse then women won't be behaving in such a desperate manner and would rather stay single. My request to all guys is please have some self respect because this desperation won't lead you anywhere

Have competing offers from EY and KPMG UK Economic advisory teams( Manager/Snr Exec level). KPMG's UK technical rep and comp offer is better, but the hours appear longer. EY UK Director has had several calls selling culture (diversity and work life balance). Is there actually a substantive emphasis on this by EY? Or are 50+ hour weeks quite common? I suspect it's going to be quite team dependent/ project dependent, and therefore a gamble in any case. Thanks for any perspectives.

You CAN be that leader that people want to work with. 1st, self assessment is required. Be honest: As a leader,have you engaged in/accepted Attribution Bias with a dash of gender &/or race bias? (See the pic) This is something we all need to be aware of as we lead our teams, provide performance feedback, & model the behaviors we'd like to see more of on our teams. Be on the lookout for Attribution Bias in yourself & on your team. It's a hindrance to creating a high-performing, inclusive culture.

Few weeks ago I did the final round for a Sales Strategy and Operations role but didn't get the offer. Was told by my recruiter that I only have to do the RRK for all future interviews since the other interviews went very well and I would be targeted for L4 placement. Can anyone currently in Biglaw discuss what hiring this summer is looking like for 2L summers for next year. From what I understand the transactional market has slowed a ton, but simultaneously a bunch of attorneys have quit over the past couple of years, so it is not clear how active the hiring market will be.

Do connections/referrals help if you suck at interviews? Have a director I used to work with refer me to his current firm. I SUCK at interviewing but I'm a good worker. Idk how consulting works but will the good rep save me? I've had multiple people talk highly of me/vouch for me, I just turn into a potato when it's an official interview.
