Unpopular opinion (?): the comeback of Y2K fashion makes me cringe HARD and has me wondering what is wrong with us humans.
Looking to hire a great marketing manager for a tech team at RSM. Message me if you are interested!
Monday morning and the only thing that goes through my mind is wow I hate my job. Between the strict requirement of releasing billing time daily, high billable goal and I guess a heavy workload (and everything that comes with living through a pandemic) it’s hard to start my day excited for work. And I hate it. Makes me question why I’m doing this for a living.

Anyone received offer from ZS recently?
Thoughts on leaving a job without another one lined up? Someone (a guy, no need for me to hide the lead here) seemed to suggest that women could be viewed as “flighty” for leaving without a plan. I sincerely never considered that framing and now I’m nervous. I have a mental “end date” from my current firm and had planned on at least a few months break but was somewhat assuming I’d leave on my anticipated end date even if I didn’t have a firm offer. Should I hold off instead?
Generally, what’s the cost of acquiring one customer and the total return when you do get the work?
Transitioning into M&A Tax soon as an experienced associate from a specialized group within SALT. Anyone have any advice on how to overcome the learning curve (things to brush up on and know) and be able to get off to a running start?
What do you do when you hit a creative roadblock? Been staring at my notebook for two hours and nothing is coming.
What’s the right amount of time to give my firm notice I’m lateraling? I work high volume transactional (30-60 day closings). I get “long enough to close out or pass off active matters” but my firm would tell me that it’s always a bad time to leave and it’s going to negatively affect the group cause they won’t be able to handle the volume and/or I’m going to be screwing over fellow associates. A month seems too long. The standard (?) two weeks seems abrupt.
Got my first RRK interview for the Big Data and Analytics Cloud Consultant role at Google. Any tips on what best to prepare for? Just straight up tech questions on Big Data, past experience, or Hypothetical/System Design questions?

I've found that every job I've ever had has 1 problem: communication. It's not poor communication, it's the lack of. Been struggling this year with admin and absent communication. Your experience?
How many math (or SAT/ACT prep) teachers try to help students remember Soh-Cah-Toa by associating it with American Indian culture (e.g. rhythmic pronunciation, claiming it is an American Indian word for Trigonometry)?

I knew a colleague last year that had to call on their union lawyer and make a case. I don't remember the details, but I know that they were glad they joined the union in the first place.

What do you get for graduating students?
I have students at my former school (I was there for 2 years) that are graduating this year. I've gotten 3 formal invitations.
I usually write a check for each invite I get, but I also have several invites from my new district. There's no way I can fork over that much money!
