It’s just not the right time. It’s not worth it and it’s getting worse, and honestly I think travel will be getting way more crowded so no matter how safe you travel, there’s more people and more risk.

Thanks all. We’ve canceled our trip. And no need to be harsh. We haven’t been anywhere in over a year and didn’t know a second wave would be happening when we booked.

Lol jk, we've been partying the entire time

Cancel. There’s a reason every state health department is warning about celebrating Thanksgiving with family. Stay home, do a nice long zoom call, and learn to cook something special.

Def cancel.

Don’t go, you’re supposed to quarantine when you get to NY, not go and potentially spread the disease everywhere, try out restaurants and leave. That is irresponsible after everything we’ve been through here in NYC during the first wave

Enjoy colder weather??? Thinking you have it backwards and plenty of good food in CA

Don’t go. You don’t have to love in fear, but you also don’t need to take elective trips.

NYC is so special during the holidays, but this year is an exception. While the city will still find ways to keep tradition, it just won’t be the same. I’d cancel.

I feel you, OP. We just cancelled our NYC-SFO trip today for what became increasingly obvious reasons. I’m sorry you can’t be with your family - this is truly hard, especially if you are on opposite coasts. But the risk and the testing/quar before and after the trip outweighs the reward. My very best to you and to everyone who won’t be seeing their families this year. ❤️

Covid has really taught me the difference b/w true vs activity friends (who are just people to do activities with). Over covid, I lost touch w/these friends either b/c they drifted away as they still did stuff but I didn’t/got into relationships/moved away. Now, they comment on my IG stories and I’ll ask how they’re doing, etc. but they never ask about me in return. On the other hand, my true friends do but my activity friend list far outnumbers the true. But it’s ok, quality > quantity 🥲🙃

I have moderate-conservative views. My team, 6 other people, are all very left-leaning. Politics isn't usually discussed outright, but the liberal views frequently seep into our meetings. It's uncomfortable for me; I can't chime in when they talk about media, covid, news, etc. because I don't agree with their snuck premises. I get along with all of them and I don't think they realize I'm basically a closet conservative. Anyone else feel like a total outsider on their team?

A friend just expressed frustration at covid weight gain and embarrassment about going back into the world. I’m not sure how best to support her other than telling her I love her and can’t wait to see her after months of lockdown. Would love any advice on what you’d want to hear if you were her.

Booked a room under another company’s rate and got an email a few days before from “Rooms Control” telling me that I need to have proof of current employment available at check-in. Is Marriott starting to crack down on rate codes or was this just circumstantial? Been doing this for years without issue.
