We have a massive filing tomorrow. There are a bunch of partners and seniors on the project, but my part of the filing is 2/3 of what we are filing and I’m responsible for over 100 pages. And apparently both of the seniors on the project helping me are offline tonight the day before the filing, which as a first year in big law is my first big one...and I’m kind of left on my own. I know I can turn to people if I need to, but this is terrifying!!!

As a partner, I would never ask a junior or associate to do something I was not 100% confident they could accomplish.

Look at this as a huge expression of the faith they have in your abilities!

You'll be fine!!!

Good luck

This is exactly right. I might give you something at the edge of your competency, but no way would I give you something important that I didn’t think you could do. This is a feather in your cap, albeit a stressful one.

Good for you. Do your part conscientiously and well. Do everything you can think of to get things ready for the morning. Then pat yourself on the back, have an adult beverage of your choice, get to bed, and be up early ready to rock and roll. You got this!

They gave you this job and responsibility because they know you can handle it. Buckle down, and be ready to bask in the glow of knowing you did something yourself and did it well tomorrow once it’s filed!

Looking for practical advice on improving my attitude to work.

So imagine an imaginary scale where 0 is the worst piece of work a studio could produce and 10 is the best possible outcome.

As an animator working in an agency, I normally end up involved in projects towards the end, so by the time I get my hands on a project I can add between 1 and 3 depending on how much effort I put in.

If a project is a 3 when I get it, how do I summon the energy to make it a 6 that I could to make a 7 a 10?

And to the people who do this... why?

However, the other two AEs want me to support them (only BDR) and they handle corporate employee accounts/non-healthcare.

Anyone have any tips for the B2B space and who I should prospect? They didn't give many pointers lol.

Which number do they go by? My mind is somehow not comprehending how some big law hours are under my small firm requirement?
