Be more collaborative. The process isn’t broken per se, but you need to make sure product and commercial are aligned on the roadmap.
It’s great you’re getting customer pain points from them, but I’d also push back on whether it’s really an issue or if it’s a squeaky wheel that doesn’t need to be prioritized.
Agreed. You have to be willing to be pretty strong on pushback but give just enough to make people feel heard. Workarounds that don't create entirely new features are good too. What's the pain point behind the pain point etc...
They should be providing insights and maybe the ultimate strategy but not the product details or the product strategy itself. I am not sure how to solve this other than to bring a strategy piece to the meetings/reports you make that you yourself have developed or sort of just push in some more ownership that doesn't compete but does some of the work for them that's hard for them to push back on.
