We have made an aggressive offer in Soma area NJ (25% over asking). We understand the appraisal might come in lower than offer. But hoping it'll be significantly higher than list price. At what point does it stop to makes sense to continue and pullout. If we stick to what deposit we have put down in the offer and need to make up the 20% over ask I think we'll have to dip a lot in to our savings. We'll be basically putting in 45% of the offer out price.

Highly doubtful appraisal will go much over list.

I don’t think there is any good reason to expect a higher appraisal price. It’s just lucky if it happens.

Did you use an appraisal floor? Or waive the appraisal all together? 25% over ask is ludicrous. Hope you kept your appraisal contingency!
