We have scripted programs for everything. Do I really need much of a lesson plan?

I wouldn't think so if they are scripted and you are expected to follow them for the most part.

Scripted programs are a great starting point, but in my experience the more I customize and internalize plans for your students’ specific needs the better growth I see.

Some districts have scripted curricula AND require annotated lesson plans. I think that’s weird.

This is a shower thought / confession: Sometimes I feel like I’m not very smart compared to my peers, but then I see some of the face palm inducing questions being asked on Fishbowl and realize some of these are from the same people making north of 250k a year. Why exactly is it so hard for people to understand that ESL and Special Education teachers are in fact that: teachers? I'm bilingual so I constantly get called in to translate for parents in the office as well because it's so hard to get a hold of the district interpreter. Today I was teaching a lesson that took us on a scavenger hunt around the building and the nurse stopped me. "Oh! This is why I couldn't get a hold of you, you're playing!" What? I tilted my head and replied, "I'm TEACHING."

Serious question. I started developing symptoms of covid last Friday. This included fatigue which worsened last Saturday. The next couple of days it got better but I started to develop cold symptoms such as runny nose, phlegm, and nasal congestion around Tuesday. I finally tested on Wednesday and came out positive. It’s been over a week since my first symptom, but I’m not sure when to test again to see if I am positive.

Hi everyone! I'm looking to emerge into the IT tech field and have recently completed the CompTIA A+ as well as Okta and Google certifications. I currently work in customer service and utilize a lot of tech and SaaS tools but other then training for the certifications I have very little experience as an IT administrator. I just landed an interview with a San Francisco based tech company as an IT engineer, and I'm looking for any interview advice and salary suggestions if I'm asked? Thanks!
