I really need a long leave so I can have a vacation atleast once. it's been 3 years I worked in my current project. Never taken a long leave. Plz suggest me good ideas. This company keeps changing the interview date, is this a red flag? I’m interviewing at a Tech company, and the comp is 6 figures, bonus + equity, unlimited pto and all that good stuff. I made it to the final “presentation/case-study” round of interviews. It was supposed to be this morning, but i got an email stating that its been moved to this Friday. Ok no problem. Got another email a couple minutes ago saying its been moved again to next Thursday. Very frustrating, is this a red flag?

How do you all deal with time management - and specifically time estimate - problems?

I always underestimate how long things will take, both because we ADHD’ers view time differently and because I don’t build in time for getting distracted.

I work with a partner who asks me by when I can get something done rather than giving a deadline. I appreciate the flexibility but I always short sell myself and end up pulling all-nighters to meet my self-imposed unrealistic deadlines.

Fish, need your help. 5th year doing leveraged finance at a V20 in NYC. I’m good at my job but I hate the practice area. Was a direct hire. Ideally, would want to pivot to ECVC but would take PE M&A in a pinch. Have 4 years of international (non-US law) M&A and 1 year of international (US law) capital markets experience. Is it impossible to retool now? Given that markets are hot will I have to drop years (already dropped the 4 years of international experience so not keen to drop more).

How much does making partner relieve the pressure to bill a ton of hours? I’ve never been an especially high biller, and tend to do a lot more BD and knowledge management than most senior associates (so end up working roughly the same amount of hours). I’m pushing very hard on billables to make partner, but hoping the expectation shifts a bit once/if I make it to better align with what I naturally spend my time doing.
