We know partners makes 500-1.5 M a year. What are the better or equivalent jobs for the ones who exited the public accounting firm?

CAE, CIO, CAO, CFO. I doubt any of these will make that much unless you’re F500 with these titles. But let’s be real, what’s the different between 400k and 500k - your kids will be ok driving Tesla’s instead of lambos

likefunny

Look up people with these titles on LinkedIn to get an idea. There isn’t a set in stone path like there is to partner.

[Very] Generally speaking

CAE - internal/external audit experience
CAO - corporate accounting experience
CIO - tech/ IT compliance / info systems experience
CFO - finance / accounting experience (generally you see more finance people in this role these days - FP&A, Strategy, Consulting, I-Banking)

When I make partner my kid is buying his or her own Honda at 22 when they have an income

Same. My kids will earn their way like I had to

I’m a fourth year cap markers US associate in London. Started my career here after law school and looking to lateral back to a firm in the US. Genuinely open to anywhere but have long term prospects of making partner, and conscious that majority of my practice here has been unregistered work. Should I just head back to NY (went to law school there and barred in NY) and gain more SEC registered experience should I be looking for more secondary markets since long term would not want to stay in NY

Hey friends! So I left PwC (risk assurance, did a bit of consulting) about 4 years ago for industry, and have been working in supply chain ever since for a major retailer. Recently, a recruiter from Protiviti reached out to talk to me about open roles in supply chain consulting, and I’m trying to decide if this would be a good move or not. I know it wouldn’t be quite the same as the hours as big 4, but I don’t know enough to be sure if it’s the right fit. Any advice?

I'm currently the Staffing Specialist at my company. I've only been in the field and in my position for 9 months and plan to take the SHRM-CP test in the fall. While I feel confident in what I do, I don't feel so confident in my overall knowledge of HR.

My VP has budgeted for me to receive study materials about a month before the test, but I personally need a little more time to study as I get test performance anxiety. Do any of you have any inexpensive suggestions for study materials?
