DC/VA ladies—does anyone have a regular nail salon that does a good job with brow waxing? I’m not trying to go to a brow specialist and pay $50-60. I literally just want a good little Vietnamese lady to do the standard brow wax for $10 and call it a day 😩 why’s it so hard to find that here. The ones I’ve been to have been horrible and I’m not used to that

Side hustle or startup ideas for someone who isn’t technical/doesn’t code? Where should I look or where to begin? I don’t have any strong passions or specific skills that I’m confident in. What books, articles, blogs, orgs, events, people I should follow for inspiration that has helped you? I have some cash to invest and am looking for a part time hustle that can cash flow at least a little bit of money on the side.

My background check is taking forever and now they are asking me to provide my letter of separation for a job I held 7 years back.
This is making me anxious since I am also in the process of H1B transfer - I just want them to tell me if I passed the check or not before I resign.

Anyone have an experience with a spotty background check and how fast/tedious it was. For ref for both my last jobs (in US) it was seamless.

Most of my experience has been freelance and I'm a self taught engineer. Though I have worked with a vc backed start-up @100k my first real employeement and later with a smaller company @85k in a different state.

I just began working with a larger company @100k and I know I have more experience then my first gig.
The offer I accepted is one level anyway from being senior.
Any suggestions for communicating/building a case for seniority/pay increase?

I am currently working as a L3 HR associate partner and is looking to move into a L4 HR partner role but my manager keeps saying I should shadow someone in order to know whether the L4 role is for me. Does it make sense that they’re asking me to do this or should I just go ahead and apply for these L4 roles? I kinda feel like it’s a strategy to keep me in my current role. I’d appreciate any advice on this issue.

I’ve interviewed for some product management roles, but am starting to feel a bit of fatigue, I’ve been interviewing off and on over a year and studying (online course for data and product management) at the same time.

If given the opportunity to work for a tech company within my current discipline (marketing strategy), is it better for me to take the offer and then potentially switch to product strategy later? Should I hold out for a product management specific role in my current industry?
