Hello Fishes,
I had given interview Mindtree and cleared both technical rounds. On Tuesday 29 March 2022, I got a call from HR for the final discussion. After that I have not received any response.
I have been calling the HR and her manager, both are not responding to mail or calls.
Is there a way to get some information if my candidature is still in progress or is this delay natural? I have another offer from another company, but am more interested in joining Mindtree.
Spiteful till the very end

A VP who sits with the analysts/associates is gonna be really powerful. My MD sits across from me and I’d drop anything to help him on one of his projects if he asked me to. You’d win their loyalty and the internal network is really important for executing

Yes but at the same time you may have a lot of calls daily and some confidential so it’s easier to have a private office.

Take the office, but sit outside with us younglings. Best of both worlds.
I second this! Maybe work near the window when you need a break from the office. Could this be an option?
Take the office. Since many firms have hybrid WFH situations, surely the younger staff won’t always be in office. If you want some sunshine, plop down in a vacant chair for a few hours and enjoy some small talk with the younger folks.
Seems like if you forego the office you’ll lose the optionality

What kind of office has no windows at all? That sounds like a closet
I would go with option 2
Take the office. Perception matters. Make sure the lighting in there at least gives the perception of life, though. No windows sounds rough.

You sound very lame. Your performance, not your office placement, should determine your “image”

Personally, I have way more respect for senior staff who have the confidence to not care about sitting around junior people. Only people with fragile egos need to hide behind hierarchy signals to protect their sense of authority. Don’t be that guy
Mike Bloomberg always sat right in the middle of things... So does Stevie Cohen... Odds are your clients will never see your office either way, but you will be far more engaged with your colleagues with option 2.
Can’t beat that 🙌
Corner office with no windows? Sounds like an interior office.
True. Corner maybe not the right word. More of an interior corner office. The corner is on the alleys.
Take the office
You’ll get stronger results if you’re out on the battle ground with your team. Open office concepts create opportunities to collaborate.
Do you think it could impact the perception on how much bonus one deserves?
Where I work, there is no structure on bonus. Heads can distribute it as they see fit, and It’s a 0 sum game.
One possibility is that i come across as someone who would be happy with any amount based on external perceptions.
What do you think?
Why not go against the grain and sit with analysts/associates? I'm all for breaking norms and setting new traditions.
For me the question is not about the question you asked but more about how much you know yourself and whats your world view.
It doesn’t matter where you want to sit, what matters is what YOU want to do and if that is to sut outside by the window and enjoy a good banter with junior colleagues - Go for it !!!
We work in an open office and our CEO and MP's all sit with us.
There is a lot of country / culture context in play. You would have to consider that and ask if it is worth it.
Where perception is key for corner office, you’d have to ask if it a tall or short wall. There is always a desire to go against the trend, but unless that is a personal image / branding, it might not be worth it. Example do the analyst associate care if you sit with them.

Take the window for life.
Besides all clients and management meetings will be in the conference room, not your office. No one would know or care
This is a tough decision, I'm so indecisive smh. But, if I'm being honest, I would probably choose the office to keep up with appearances.
I have my own office (albeit it’s a 2 person office but the other guy quit a while back). No windows looking outside the building.
My MDs and Directors occasionally pop in to do work at the other desk.
I know it’s not apples to apples but seems like taking the office gives you a similar option to the seniors at my firm.
Personally I would just sit with the analysts and associates because I like having a view but at the same time it’s nice to have privacy while taking calls or when you’re trying focus.
My CEO of a large big4 sits in a common space
Take the corner office and then go sit in the open area near the window every opportunity you get.
You may need your closed office door for escalations, client conversations, and other more private talks. Booking a conference room all day long will become a burden at some point.
