I think it’s anger at our broken healthcare system, and since we are the accessible ones, they direct it at us.
I agree with this statement. I really think it is misguided anger. Unfortunately we experience the most blow back.
People are always looking for someone to blame or be the “bad guy”. Don’t let this bother you
I’m assuming you mean us PAs. I think it’s either people don’t understand what we do/our training, or they are threatened we will take their jobs.
What experiences have you had that make you feel this way?
Oh gosh. I've heard at least two patients a week blame medical practitioners for "extorting" people for healthcare. I guess it's just the blanket generalization of things but I can't blame them.
Ugh. I hate it when this happens. I'm just glad there are patients and their family who understand– and if not thank us for doing our jobs, are at least appreciative that they finally got healed or found a road for healing. Sure there are days when the negativity is drainig but it's also set-off by seeing the difference we make in the industry.
