Over the last few weeks I feel like every headline I read is about layoffs across various companies and industries… except consulting. Why are consulting firms still hiring strong? Aren’t they suppose to be the first ones to lay people off?

I was informed today that my employment would be terminated at a tier-2 consulting firm in Toronto. The reasons for my dismissal are unclear and I would like to get legal advice on the termination agreement and severance package that was offered. I recently took a job in a startup for a bigger paycheck and to shift to aproduct based company. I left my previous company where i got along great with my boss but the work was too much and always too busy. At the new company i learnt they let go of the product owner i was supposed to work under & this put me in a bad position as i clearly did not have enough experience to handle senior position & i was let go on friday after two months since i was not good enough to fill both roles. :(
