Weekly Zoom UX design critique of some of the popular brands. (Spotify, DoorDash, Mailchimp, etc) Anyone down to join?

Just started a new gig this week and the workload is slow, so I figure we should make the most of this downtime.

My teammate and I haven’t worked together on anything yet. We’ve talked on zoom before and have texted and called occasionally.

I’m hoping we can become familiar with each other and get that creative back and forth going. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for activities or creative exercises?

Has anyone found a video call platform that shares videos nicely? We’ve used Zoom, teams, hangouts and video just looks like crap-and sending stuff ahead of time and having everyone view on their end is clunky and awkward. Hoping for a better solution

How do I deal with a super intense senior associate that is making life difficult? This associate sees no difference between 11 AM and 11 PM, weekend or weekday. They will text me on my personal cell instead of emailing, insist on long zoom calls during which they insist on turning camera on, won’t review anything I send them unless it’s on a zoom call (yes, that is crazy and not the norm at my firm), and is not a good team player (something good? He did it! bad? You did it)! What do I do?

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Feeling like my students aren’t getting what they should because I am struggling with Zoom, Microsoft, safe YouTube, bitmoji, embedding, downloads, editing, etc. Anyone else feeling this way?

I am an incoming staff and my hair is thinning. I decided to buzz it, but then had some MBA interviews and went a full clean shaved head (wanted to look sharp). My hair on the sides grew back, top is growing but slowly. I start work end of July and still have a couple mba interviews also coming up, with everything on zoom rn, I am debating whether to commit to the bald look or just wait for it to grow back. The purpose for this will be that it'll get us to open our laptops and hopefully sit and study later. Also, it might be good to know what others are working on, give progress updates, and solve and discuss problems together.

I took the EQ test (Emotional intelligence) and scored over 110 on each section except for the 'Self Regard' section (scored 80). I am the first in my family to finish college and work as an engineer. I didn't come from a privileged family and hustled all my life to get to where I am. I believe I have done pretty well for a 25 year old. Yet I don't think I am valuable, most times I talk so fast because I feel like I am wasting people's time. Wondering how internal applications work for others in the design world

My manager and their boss both encouraged my to apply for an open manager role on our team, but in order to proceed with the application process I have to first interview with a recruiter for the company. Is this standard or strange?

A short-lived client who frequently broke boundaries ended up terminating our branding project last year. Now, a year later, they are telling me to remove my branding work on my portfolio website. It is unused by them and they never purchased the license or anything. They are claiming it is a conflict of brand. There are no links to their business on my portfolio. I thought portfolio pieces, especially unused concepts, were ok to showcase. It is described as a proposal and concept on my website.

Looking for a new role and to take the next step in my career. Currently in house as a graphic designer, looking to move into more of a senior designer or art director role with concept and strategy as part of my responsibilities. Anyone know anyone or can offer any advice? Would also appreciate feedback on my portfolio. DM if you’re up for sparing the time.
