Euro living in NYC. New Yorkers have tough exteriors but hearts of gold. It’s a tough city but it’s also one of the most exciting and thrilling places which is why we come from all over the world to be here. it gives you as much as you’re willing to put in...but try it, life is about experiences:)
I live in the south and I've met some bitches and dicks

People are people. You will find all kinds werever you go. Its awesome you have found good people. There is also the opposite in NYC as well. You take the good with the bad, and make the best of it.
This. There’s over 20m ppl in NYC metro. Can’t generalize them! You’re bound to find all kinds of ppl in a group that big.
Look into the book Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron -- may gain insight into your own personality and how to cope in certain situations
Ok I live in NYC (born and raised here) and I describe myself exactly like you. Extrovert with introvert qualities, and pretty sensitive. This might shock some people but I’d argue that New Yorkers are actually some of the GENUINELY nicest people you will ever meet. My friends from the south agree, because in many other parts of the country people are “fake nice” but that just isn’t a thing here. People are real and it’s one of the things I love the most about this amazing city
Is NYC a city that softie like me could handle?
Rising Star
Of course you can!
NYC isn’t always the easiest place to live but I’ve met the most amazing people here. You have to learn to be direct and I think people misinterpret that for rudeness when it’s really not. I prefer to know where I stand! If you’re curious about it go for it - it’s an amazing city and I’ve loved every minute of the decade I’ve spent here. The thought of leaving is truly sad and I cry if I think about it too hard.
I’m a lifelong New Yorker and I can tell you two things. 1 - this city is generally speaking, amazing. 2- Right now, don’t come here. It’s degenerated into a cesspool. It’s filthy, it’s dangerous, and it’s leadership is completely and totally morally bankrupt.
Oh geez, it’s really not that bad. I live here too. The whole “NYC Is Dead” spiel is getting pretty old, especially when it’s not accurate. The city is probably the cleanest I’ve ever seen it, and tons of people are out and about at the restaurants
