Weirdest interview you ever had? I once interviewed a designer for a role at McCann Digital who's entire book was just hardcore gay porn websites. He was pretty proud of them too.

I would argue that hardcore porn is inappropriate design material to show if you want to work on P&Gs banner ads. But that's just me.

The more I think about this the more concerned I am about it. 1) you saw this book before the interview (which you must have done) so why take the interview if you weren't interested? 2) you don't see how the design challenges of a pornographic website might be applicable, when it comes to design practice, to other digital projects? Idk man I'm getting a judgemental, narrow minded vibe here.

I didn't see his book before he came in, as it was 1997 and I was looking for an experienced web designer so I was meeting any and all candidates who claimed that experience that my recruiter sent to me. They were very thin in the ground at that time, so I was meeting with everyone I could. But I'm glad you are concerned, about my possible narrow mindedness and latent homophobia. I perhaps misjudged when I added the textural nuance of the category of pornography he specialized in in my attempt to more fully engage you in the robust immersive storyworld for this participatory narrative experience. I'll be on guard for that in future.
