What companies do you recommend that highly support working parents? I’m getting married and we plan to start a family next year. My current company and salary won’t support kids and buying a house.
4th year going into my 5th year and am leading discovery and case management on a case with a $5 million budget (yeah!) with a rocket docket. Starting to understand why partners have no time to do substantive work: it’s all answering client questions and managing staff, associates, and reviewing partners. Any tips for the transition? I’ve never been too demanding from my colleagues and usually just pick up any slack myself. Now I need to motivate others and give direction.
Biden calls Arizona "an important city" during an interview. Truly unfortunate the Democrats continue with the elder abuse of making him go through with this campaign. This is like checking a guy out of the nursing home and dropping him off in a random place and letting him wander off. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DAQXHn5-igKw&ved=2ahUKEwi3u8PZm-zqAhWRlnIEHa3WDVUQtwIwBXoECAYQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0n02Rz7lmrrFbu8N2kAuvq&cshid=1595811150099
I’m a 2nd year and effectively just ran a deal on my own with the partner. It ran smoothly, I got praise from the partner, and the partner said that they trust me to do most stuff without their sign off (so no need to check with them in future unless I’m really unsure). Generally there is one or two mid levels above me, and I find it way harder to do my job when they are managing me. They like to keep me on the bench, get me to do minor tasks and don’t let me take responsibility and ownership.
Considering obtaining a CFE certification. Can anyone share their experience vs experience obtaining CPA? I’m already a CPA. I just want a comparison of study time requirement and difficulty of exam.
We had a lockdown drill, and the police came into each classroom. They told our students to fight back and to listen to the teacher’s instructions. I’m not a freakin’ ninja. I’m an English teacher. This is insane.
What are associates with roughly 2.5 YOE making in Los Angeles? I’m making $81K but feel like with insurance, student loans, car payment, rent, etc I am unable to save anything and am so stressed.
Any tips or pointers from McK folks on R2 interview? Would you say this stage is more a “fit” interview? What is the likelihood of an offer after this stage?
Is the M&A pipeline drying up for 2020? Worried about the impact of coronavirus and extended time on the bench. Already on the bench for 2 weeks, know some folks who've been benched since Jan.
Curious if anyone knows anything about Accord Consulting in Mass? My son goes to Brown and has an interview for an internship. They seem really new?
In a partnership model, how do you ensure incentives stay aligned and that varied contributions are properly rewarded at the partner level? How do you avoid bureaucracy & keep partners client facing?
Just ruined Mother's Day weekend with somehow getting on topic of family issues. Congratulations to me! No coming back from this 🍾🍾🍾
Today is the last day of my internship and the program was a bit of a mess. Every other internship I have had at an agency has ended with an exit interview, HR hasn't reached out. Is this weird?
Suggestions for KPIs for learning consultants?
Can someone please tell me how long the green card process is on EB2 for a Pakistani citizen??? All info everywhere is so complicated. Prevailing wage request was submitted April 1. -How long from now that I can work on green card (and therefore not on H1b tied to employer)? -How long till my wife can work on green card/H4 and not need to be tied to her H1 employer?
Hi all, I’m currently on a new team and volunteered for a project for a few weeks ago. My health has taken a turn as I’m 26 weeks pregnant and I’ve been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and severe anemia, which require weekly 3-4 hour iron infusions at the hospital. I don’t know if I should ask for help on this project or ask to be taken off. Never in my career has this happened to me. I always feel like I have to work twice as hard and always say yes. Any advice?
