Went from in-house to agency 7 months ago and haven't enjoyed a single day so far. At what point is it no longer just about the uncomfortableness of being new and truly about the job/company fit?

I always know around month 6 if it’s gonna be a long term or jump ship type of job. Finish out 1 year and move on.

7 months is a long time to not be happy at work. Get out when you can

What are the issues that are making you unhappy and what were your expectations coming in? Think about those things and talk to others in different agencies (LinkedIn is a good place to find people to have real conversations with) and see if those things are universal or if your particular agency just isn’t a fit

Not all agencies are the same. It’s possible that the agency could just suck. My suggestion is to stick it out for a year, get the agency experience under your belt and then go somewhere else.

It's not a fit. Trust me. I know

In my own experience working at three agencies, these are my takeaways: 1. Agencies, by nature, are stressful, chaotic, fast-paced, require long hours, and chock full of unrealistic deadlines. 2. A good agency will give you the tools, team members and infrastructure to weather all of those things and make it a positive experience. 3. Good agencies have good management. If you have shitty managers, shitty tools and shitty teams, you have a shitty agency.

You left client side? Everyone is trying to go the other way.

Thought it was what I wanted. Thought wrong 🤦

A lot of my close friends in Tech are SWEs and are making ~400-500k / year. I am in Consulting and make ~160k/yr. I know this is already a lot and I am super privileged, but I still struggle with comparison. I have no interest in being a SWE but I still struggle with the lesser money I make. How do I deal with this apart from aspiring for higher paid professions?

Associate at pwc. Got an offer from a boutique consultancy that does cost reduction/performance improvement, mostly with PE firms. 50% increase in base. Work is quite interesting. I'm just slightly worried that it'll hurt me later on in my career since the boutique is very small and specialised, and not very well known compared to pwc. Anyone jumped from b4 to boutique?
