Went on a date with a Goldman banker: she said that we'd not be a good fit because I don't work at McKinsey, so I would be insecure about my company in relation to hers. What????

No dis to mcK, and as a Strategy guy I both compete with and partner with both of you all the time, but I lose to McKinsey 1:3 I lose to BCG 1:2, they are just better at the holistic picture. If you want pure pie in the sky advisory, sure McK is McK, but then you have to build and implement it. Now BCG is no better at implementing than McK is, but they do provide more implementable solutions when people pick it up to take forward. The bigger brains defining the new, at this particular point in time seem to be at places like here at Accenture, at BCG and less at places like McK.

Test AF. No woman (or anyone) can overpower the reptilian hind-brain. Be bold and unphased and say "..ah, too bad because we would have had the most intense, erotic, fuckathon. Let me know if things change, gotta run," and walk away. She'll piss and moan for and hot minute and then be chasing after you to get a taste of that alpha. Don't be average and accept your fate, be bold and direct it.

Sounds like Goldman

This literally happened, and now there certainly won't be a second date

Please tell me you're joking

Wonder how many points you can ask for

"Not be a good fit" ahhhhh THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID

Epic

Thank god you learned she sucks really early on

I'm still in shock: I wouldn't say this to even someone that worked a significantly lower paying or prestigious job than mine, it's so pretentious and presumptive

like

Have a 2nd date! Go somewhere you have wanted to go, but didn't want to pay for. Tell her she is right. Obviously she will need to pick up the check. You certainly couldn't afford it with your inferior salary.

I almost can't believe this, honestly. There are really real life people like this? I feel fucking blessed for never coming across them in my life.

The most shocking part of this story is the fact that they let a female into the frat house.

like

Date someone from BCG. They consistently get the best ratings for quality of life.

like

F her she will be replaced by AI in a couple years

like

Another absolutely bizarre part of this story is that I canceled my McKinsey final round when I got my BCG offer because I liked the BCG culture. Guess that made me inferior to her haha

like

Say what you will about BCG but they have never come close to collapsing the global economy by deliberately selling subprime-backed shit to AIG and others

like

There's no way this is true. Goldman bankers would never be out of work early enough to go on a dinner date and have it end before 11 EST

like

Pass her number along

like

Hahaha yeah definitely sounds like Goldman

Goldman folks are really full of themselves.

@OP, hey gurl, you wanna see if we'd make a good fit?

Don't spend time on this one. If you paid for her meal send her a venmo request for a refund. Caveat it with the note that you time with her was a poor investment. She is like Snapchat stock. An overhyped IPO that isn't going to pop.

Honestly, why do they feel the need to explain? There is literally no shame in it. It is a good way to make a living.

Green Card via employer - Should I bring up previous unauthorized work?

Hi folks, my employer is kicking off my green card process. I am currently in the beginning, filling out employment questionnaires, and working in the paperwork necessary to initiate the petition.

However, during my F-1 years, I engaged in unauthorized work for a small advertising agency.

Is it a requirement to bring up that period within the forms, or should I omit to facilitate the process and to avoid any surprises?

From reading around, I hear this is quite standard for the role, but I’m liking to counter.

I’d appreciate thoughts on ranges I should shoot for in countering.

I need some suggestions.

I am currently working in a Big 4 post my MBA from tier 2 IIM college as consultant but the work is pure PMO work which I am doing right now. And what if I keep doing this pmo work, where will I land up?

I wish to transit into a product manager or may be program manager role.
