All good if the kid’s enjoying it. Id encourage the kid rather than judge if thats the case

It’s up to parents on how they raise their kids. Everyone will have a quirk or two that will not fall into your definition of ideal parenting. For instance, I was raised not to judge others on “why” they do some things, based on my singular experience.
Having said that, I hope desis will stop correcting other’s “desi ness”. Ironically this and other judge mental posts like this keep popping up. It is just a projection of most annoying desi auntie behavior

I agree with OP, looks like the bowl doesn't agree with you. Shows that the mentality of dance for uncle or recite your poetry won't change. It's such embarrassing actually to both the person who is performing and to the one who is watching.
I am okay with a kid doing it if we have met few times and are very comfortable with each other. He is willing to do it.
Was it ac dc or Sonu Nigam?
It’s tacky unless it’s the kid’s idea to show it

The more imo question is tf are you violating stay-at-home orders?

Kid sang wearing mask 😷🤔
I felt it was forceful for the kid

OP you should get off your high horse 🐴 So what if the parents were proud enough to show their kids’ talent to there friends and kid was happy enough to play it? What’s so wrong in that?
Rising Star
What’s wrong with that? Unless the kid doesn’t want to do it
S&1, So now we are comparing dog doing it’s tricks to a child showcasing their whatever (talent), can’t beat that comparison.
Was the kid happy to perform?
What song?
OP - aren't you Desi?
OP s mentioning husband's Desi Fren as if she isn't one. So
Hey OP - I assume you don’t have kid yet... other way to look at it might be instead of just interacting with parents learn to interact with friends kids as well ... may be act like kid with them and mingle with them so kid also behaves like friend, might feel involved (obviously kid won’t feel involved in office talk and financial talks, visa talks, career goals) and next time he or she will share hobbies and might play drum by himself/herself.. after that it won’t feel forceful..
Just saying it’s easy to say it was forceful to kid.. I have one daughter .. I don’t ask her to perform or sing a rhyme in front of friends but I do talk to her.. I sing rhymes and she joins and do things she likes and she reciprocates emotions in front of friends and relatives (obviously not to show off ) it just how you boost confidence in kids... at 3.5 I have seen her many occasions initiating the conversation with people elder to her kids or my friends
