Went to lock down a file in cch and noticed after it was locked down, 2nd read’s sign offs weren’t synced... what do I do?

Waiting to hear from an in house job and received another offer from a firm - it seems highly likely that the in house job will give an offer but would it be acceptable to reach out and inform them of this pending offer to gauge their timeline? I don’t want to keep the firm waiting or let the offer lapse.

Does anyone have experience with modeling courses like WSP or FMVA? Currently in FDD and exploring making the jump to IB in the next year or so. I be got a good academic record, a CPA, fairly relevant experience in M&A, but no on the job modeling experience so I would think that certification coupled with everything else would nudge me in the right direction. Thoughts?

3 tips I always give to first-time home sellers that make my work easier:

1. Try professional photos. You have one chance to impress possible buyers. Use it wisely.
2. Be flexible with home showings. Maybe your possible buyers won't appreciate your house's potential if there are dogs running around or too many people inside.
3. Respond promptly to a purchase offer. Some people don't have much time to wait for an answer. Be quick and responsive!

Has anyone ever been through the “hack” phase of interviewing with Facebook and have sage advice?

I am looking to leave my very small law firm firm and considering going to a much larger firm. I have some clients that were brought in by other partners but I am deeply entrenched in their work. It would not be easy for another lawyer to get up to speed, but the client contact is technically with another lawyer and I am working with that lawyer also on the file. I also have one client where we could really use some more bodies on the file. More in comments.

The manager in on my engagement has a bad reputation for treating staffs badly. I found out that many staffs felt uncomfortable with the manager’s style of communication as well as always blaming on staffs instead of taking responsibility. For example, a staff sent out the sample selections and manager reviewed it but later found out that there was an error but instead of taking responsibility, the manager blamed the senior who had nothing to do with the selection process.

Why’s there such a negative view on Internal Audit. Really thinking about moving into IA after public. Better pay, generally a 9-5 job, no weekends. With all that time saving I’d have more time for side hustles.

My entire team (I’m Senior with most tenure) is terrified of our Manager, who is confrontational, rude, and stand-offish. Everyone including the other seniors on my engagement are scared to talk to this manager and you can hear in their voice they’re nervous. Funny thing is is once the partner gets on the phone the manager is the nicest most bubbly person in the firm! So two-faced.

Everytime you shake someone’s hand and it feels like your best friend, could it be that it’s only superficiality? With no regard to well being, without an inkling of compromise....handshake is nothing

What has been your favorite team event? Looking for ideas for our team that has around 30 people.

How is everyone dealing with the volume of people leaving? I know in my office we are drowning due to the number of staff and seniors leaving and the volume of work coming in. Obviously there’s always turnover but it’s way more than normal and we don’t seem to be able to hire people. I feel like the audit industry is due for a big change to retain people since I think younger folks are way less willing to trade their life now for a payday later on in life.

EY/PWC/Deloitte folks - How much are the raises or end TC figures for Audit manager 2’s that have been communicated ? We at KPMG probably are going to be communicated around end of September … even though they’ll have all the market data , really doubt they’ll match the other big 4 😒
