We’re all consultants - but surely someone’s spouse/family member is a vet and can help me😂 my grandmother’s tiny dachshund dog ate 5 nature valley granola bars (no chocolate / raisins) and my mother is refusing to call a vet. Am I overreacting or is she being dumb? Gotta love being home for the holidays...🙄

Funny to see this post now. About an hour ago, someone left our kitchen pantry open. My dog (shepherd mixed mutt) grabbed a Nature Valley granola bar and brought it to me. It was her way of reminding me that it was her feeding time.

Gma’s dog isn’t dumb. The dog is just being dog.

Had a mini schnauzer eat 3 dozen freshly baked cookies with icing off a platter on a coffee table. The entertaining part of it was watching my dog look innocent “like, who me?” With crumbs stick in his beard and eyebrows.

Dog was fine. Extra output the next day, but no harm to the pooch.

I'm not the person to help you out, but I just pictured a tiny dachshund eating 5 nature valley granola bars and you got me to smile, OP. Thanks for that

The visual is probably everything you’re imagining😂 his stomach clearly is larger.

like

He’ll probably puke it up. As long as there is nothing poisonous, there’s nothing for the vet to do. Sincerely, not a vet- but my dog eats everything.

like

Can u post of pic of him? 🥺

Hahaha! I wish I saw this earlier.

Completely fine. My corgi ate a box of them last year, called the vet, they asked to read ingredients, then said she’d be fine which she was.

Thank you!! I’ll learn not to judge small dogs lol.

I have a dachshund, it's eaten far worse - its what they do haha

Scavenger gonna scavenge... If it doesn't agree with their digestive system they'll puke or crap it out, otherwise SCORE for doggo.

You can call the vet and double check to be safe. I have a dachshund mix and he's a mess. Never induce vomiting unless a vet says to though!

like

Okay are granola bars poisonous to a dachshund? If not it can pass like anything else.

like

Raisins chocolate grapes they typically cannot eat.

Chocolate won’t kill them but you’ll have a messy clean up. Many other things can be eaten in moderation.

like

Roomie is a vet tech, who says doggo will likely have unholy farts and diarrhea but the only lasting harm will be due to the assault on your sense of smell.

funny

Check the ingredients of the granola bars. If there’s xylitol, then you’ll need to get your pup help!

like

My dog ate part of my charcuterie board on the table when I answered the door. He was immediately sent to timeout. But pup was not harmed by the meat in the process 😅

like

Induce vomit w hydrogen peroxide

M&C2 agreed. Let things pass naturally unless instructed by the vet to do otherwise.

Lol probs be fine but that might be a monster shit 😂

My pitbull ate a couple of those, some chapstick, and part of a folder once. No issues other than a couple interesting poops. Dogs are tough

Google?

My ex-girlfriend was a Vet. If she’s on here don’t trust a word she says or your daschund is a goner!

My lab ate an entire box of truffle chocolates when she was a puppy and she’s fine

You can also call animal poison control if you’re really concerned! They’ll walk through all the ingredients with you on the call and give you any vet-backed advice as needed

My dachshund ate an entire loaf of bread once, she didn’t move for like an entire day afterwards.

For moms that did NIPT, did you also end up doing CVS, and/or amniocentesis? Were all of the results consistent? Need advice:
I had final interview today with one of the elementary schools in GTA, ON Canada. I got the offer with $50,000 starting salary but the IT has a solo person who’s called IT Director in team and I’ll be 2nd person. About 6 weeks vacation including Christmas, Jewish holidays and 2 weeks personal vacation. I interviewed for another big company GHD on Tuesday (waiting to hear back). And today I got two more interviews from Mid-sized companies- one of them pays ~$54,000. What should I do?

There’s only one building in particular I’m considering in Deep Ellum, I just can’t stomach paying almost $2k/mo for a regular one bedroom.
