Marco Island (just a little south of Naples) is awesome for beach, kayaking, and a quick hop to the Everglades NP
My in-laws live in Naples so we spend a lot of time down there. Lots of stuff to keep busy. Do you have kids? We’ve been going down for 10 years together (pre kids and then with kids), so will have different suggestions depending on the answer. Not to miss is the spa at the JW Marriott on Marco island. You could spend a whole day there.
The area is huge and there is a lot of traffic so I’d try to stay somewhere that is close to where you want to be. There are “less nice” places in Naples, but in pockets here and there. I’d try to stay close to 5th Ave (the Hyatt House there is nice and a good deal if you pay with points). On Marco island, Collier Blvd is the main drag and where a lot of the resorts/condos are with direct beach access, so I’d stay along there.
Nope lots to do down there
As a childless person who prefers the great indoors, I would be so so bored. Everything closes at 8 PM when the old people go to sleep.
Walk out to the beach at night with some drinks. Watch the bioluminescence, ghost crabs and moonlight over the waves.
