We’ve got some spare cash and my BMW 540 lease is coming up soon. For my next car, I’m considering a Ferrari or Lamborghini or McLaren, less than $250K. Any advice as I explore? I drive 6-7k miles/yr, this would be my “fun” car

Great idea for a second car. Tough to take to the mall, office, or airport. If you buy preowned - which is likely a given in that price range - make sure you are near a qualified independent mechanic for the brand you choose and get to know them. They are invaluable for exotics. And budget accordingly. Usually an average of $3-5k per year for maintenance. Also make sure your garage storage space is appropriate.

I did this years ago and have a Ferrari that is my getaway, especially during the pandemic. I store it whenever there is salt on the roads but drive it as much as I can.

By the way, prices are through the roof like everything else, so be patient. These aren’t Hondas, so finding the right one can take some time. Consider contacting guys like Yellow Compass and Normal Guy Supercar who can help with the search. Oh, and be sure to have an independent pre-purchase inspection before you buy. I bought my car across the country and it was very helpful to have someone look at it before I bought.

Recommend driving at one of the exotics experience to see which you like as they have different personalities. The Ferrari Roma may be an option. All will be hard to find, so take your time—also take a look at maintaining costs as you might be shocked.
The fish aren’t wrong on the 911, love mine!

Lambo is a bit flash. Mclaren perhaps not as comfortable. Ferrari is the way.

Currently in discussions with EY for a position in their Strategy & Transaction team, fdd service line. I made it clear that I am interested in expanding my skillset in the future and maybe work on a strategy project if possible (i want to specialise in an industry, instead of a service line).
Is it possible to do a secondment within the firm in the future if i wanted to do that?

Good morning ladies! I’m attempting to help a current sales analyst get into an outside sales position, and I’d like to give her some suggestions on various ways that she can network to meet people to help her land that position.
What are some of the outside-the-box ideas that you might have that would help her in her networking efforts?

I am taking an associate role at a REPE office and my offer includes an annual $70k bonus that is based on “achieving 3 mutually agreed upon metrics”. Has anyone had a bonus based on something like this? What metrics make sense? I’m not sure what to propose.

Hi all,
I’m currently a junior doctor in an intensive care in London. I’m hoping to make a career switch over to consulting. I’ve done research, but struggling to find an initial landing spot in consulting. Does anyone have advice about making the switch from medicine? Where should I start/aim for? For reference I graduated 3 years ago and am currently studying an MSc in Global Health Policy at LSHTM. Thanks!

Do folks have trusted/valuable resources for researching luxury family travel with young kids? I don’t care the cost, I want to know what is most convenient and nice for my family. Feel like generally most resources are geared to either a) families on a budget (I don’t care which hotel is best bang for buck w/mid breakfast) or b) couples / adults only travelers. Do folks just stick to true five star hotel concierges for help? Do folks just book luxury tours like A&K? How do folks research?

Is there a general expectation that a Partner has an MBA?

I doubt it's required at most firms but I'm a pretty senior staff and when I speak with Partners, they seem to speak with an MBA level of business knowledge which extends past their technical skillset.

I realize that's what makes them good Partners but it makes me wonder if I realistically need to get an MBA to keep growing and hit Partner.

I feel like I am paying way too much in income taxes. I live in high state tax state so it adds up. What are some creative ideas to minimize my tax liabilities? MD here, so salaried employee.

I feel a little crazy saying this, but more money at this point doesn’t resonate. I see a ton of exit planning and boomerang threads here, but I’d take a 50% pay cut (or a 50% raise) for an exciting role. That’s totally privilege talking, but I just can’t imagine chasing extra money in PE or lateraling just for the money. No virtue signaling here at all. I actually worry on some level that I’m somehow a moron for not giving a thought to maximizing earnings.
