I'm in South Africa but looking for a remote role in recruitment. I have 1 years experience in HR and 2 years in sales and customer services.
Would anyone consider hiring an award winning CD to work remote for a year? I’m relocating to a different time zone to help my parents.
I keep seeing those LinkedIn polls about how many people want to work from home permanently, and it makes me kinda sad. I know a lot of people really prefer working from home, but as a junior who only started working after the pandemic began, it feels so strange to not have an agency to go to. I know all my coworkers faces only from seeing them on Zoom, and only in the context of work-related conversations. I hope I’ll actually get the chance to experience normal agency culture.
Ok I’m 100% remote and last week I didn’t leave the house. My work day blends into home life. I’ll break for dinner and log back in. I feel myself burning out and it’s getting colder so I know I won’t want to leave the house. It’s making me depressed. What can I do?
Just saw a social media post by a CCCO that makes it sound like he’s suffering through this new WFH routine. Jesus. Get some perspective. And what is so tough about WFH? So old fashioned.
I’m not the heaviest I’ve ever been - I’ve lost some weight due to stress - but I’m easily in the worst shape of my life. I go for walks but it’s just not enough to combat the sedentary wfh lifestyle. Any advice on how to make more of an effort to at least try to do better? I have no equipment other than a yoga mat and can’t afford a peloton or anything. But I went to the office to pick some stuff up and took the stairs 3 floors up, and felt like I was going to die 😭 any advice appreciated!
Month 5 of 20/4 intermittent fasting. Down 25 pounds to ~170 lbs (stabilized there) M/53. WFH was hard but keeping fridge and cupboards from temptations (and still no booze for three months) has helped. It can be done--miss ice cream! but eating healthy in the 4-hour window. Two cups of black coffee/lots of water btw 9 pm and 5 pm. Doable folks. Don't give up. But am not exercising from home (just long walks 2x a week) due to intense work. Need to but hard to get back on exercise saddle.

Is anyone doing anything cool remote learning wise with their prek class. I’m looking for some fun ideas to get them motivated again !
what perk/stipend/budget does your firm have since we went into pandemic WFH mode? eg reimbursement for tech, seamless credit, paying for housekeepers etc?
What's a good chair for my bedroom for WFH? I have a nice basic desk from Amazon but their chairs don't seem to be revered.
New to this NY freeze - so when does an agency just call it quits and have everyone work from home? Or is this wishful thinking?
Is there a time when people generally “start” work remotely? Back when I was a summer before the pandemic, I commonly saw people go in between 9-10 am but I didn’t know what the norm is now that we are remote. I see emails at 8 am and I’m not sure if I’m expected to respond then or not. Also if you are on a deal where some of the members are in NY and you’re in the Midwest, are you expected to go by their times and be on when they are on?
Need a freelance Sr. Copywriter 8/6-8/20 to work on social - social ads, static feeds, carousels for a mattress brand. Do you have a bunch of social, are you available and nice? Fully remote. Reach out to me :)
Looking for Senior AEs ( base + uncapped commission ) as well as an Ad Opper at KORTX in Detroit . Fully remote. www.KORTX.io
Taxes. I work in Chicago but interviewing for a remote role with a New York agency. Will I have to pay taxes in Illinois and New York? How has this worked for all of you during remote?
Are banks in the US still requiring people to go into the office? My brother at JP Morgan in Sydney is still going in bc apparently they can’t WFH (something about no access to Bloomberg terminal 🙄)
Anyone know what base looks like for Amazon operations role? 8yoe, masters, secret clearance, but would be remote
What is Huron’s maternity leave policy?
Can anyone help me evaluate whether I should take an exit opportunity. Currently in big 4 (fsrm) and have the opportunity to join a f250 payments firms internal strategy division. They report directly to the c-suite and said they mainly focus on strategy or M&A and don’t do implementation. The team seems really nice but I’m just worried about leaving consulting and leaving the accelerated progression. Would love some insights as I’m fairly lost on what to decide. Thanks!
Does your home office location matter for taxes if you live in a different state and never work out of the state of your home office (i.e., your time sheet doesn’t have your home office state)? Thx!
What is it about law that glorifies morning people so much? I am NOT one and wfh has been so great for me in terms of being able to set my own schedule, but now that we’re starting to go back to the office I’ve noticed some pointed comments about people not being in by 8am. I bill as much (generally more) than other associates, so why does it matter if I start at 9 and work late?? I’m finding it hard to go back to the arbitrary-feeling 8am office start when I know I’m not going to be productive.
A Google recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn to interview me for an opening on the Ad Sales team as an Account Manager. Curious if anyone else has been through this process? What should I expect? The first phone interview is tomorrow. Excited for the opportunity and want to put my best foot forward!
Curious how Tier 2 work and Big 4 work differs from MBB. I have heard their lifestyle is better. What do they do differently?
35 weeks pregnant and just had an interview for a full time job I would love to land. I haven’t disclosed anything, but if an offer comes, what’s the best way to play it out and not lose the opportunity?
CDs saying "always make great creative" is exactly the same as a child saying, "always follow your dreams." Life has nuance.
McCann Health… More like McCann HELL to me 😪
An ECD of mine fired me after I talking me out of quitting, then talked shit about me to literally the most prominent headhunter in advertising. This was 20 years ago. Now he wants to be friends on Facebook. WWYD?
I love how even Slack’s servers were like, “damn man, I really don’t want to go to work this morning.”
What does your onboarding process look like? Someone becomes a client. How do you welcome them into the practice?

Considering an “attorney development” role at a big firm. Currently midlevel at a big firm. I would be helping with career planning, reviews and staffing. The attorney development role is low six figures (less than market 1st year salary) and 9-6. I don't hate practicing law, just looking for better hours and long term viability. appreciate hearing from anyone who knows folks in similar roles.
Anyone looking for an associate strategist? I’ll even take an internship - I just need to get out of my current agency.
