At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: “I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of, if I’m going to do what I was born for — the things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?”
So you were born to feel “nice”? Instead of doing things and experiencing them? Don’t you see the plants, the birds, the ants and spiders and bees going about their individual tasks, putting the world in order, as best they can? And you’re not willing to do your job as a human being? Why aren’t you running to do what your nature demands?

That wasn’t my schedule, that was the one proposed by your post (roughly)

7-11:59pm if you add the third round of work that starts after the 6pm coffee
I have a 1 year old and don’t know how people do it if both parents are working and commuting. I’d be losing 90 minutes a day to a commute and this doesn’t even factor in all the extra prep time (pack lunch/coffee, more time to get ready, etc)
Just wait until that 1 year old is 10 years old and has a sibling and school starts anywhere between 7:30-8:30am, gets out by 3pm, and then there’s various sports and other youth activities they want to be involved with in the evening. Work from home quickly becomes a requirement.
Ok but really. Consulting was never a commuting job to begin with
Oh really? My constant delays and cancellations in and out of LGA respectfully disagree

Soooo if you're WFH you're not eating?
The trick is to come in late and leave early

who forced them to live so far away? They took the job knowing that’s the consequences
This is purely dumb and entitled. Sure I don’t agree with office work and am against it, but don’t blame it for own issue
BC1, when I was working in DC, I lived in Arlington a whopping 6 miles away from the client office. 45 minute commute with DC traffic. 1.5 hours on a bad day. Not to mention the time getting ready for work. If you’re suggesting I should have bought a new condo in the center of the city to cut down my commute, no thanks. We change projects every few months.
I think hybrid is good for new employees but as yu become more senior WFH should be encouraged. Especially if you have a family
Amen
WFH is 645AM to 945PM if you include all the free extra IT hours you put in, calls with Europe and Asia bc we are so happy to team with you over Video
Think that’s uniquely your experience. I worked with international clients and working from home was a godsend. Can’t imagine doing it all in the office
Sitting at home does not let you reach $1m pay 💰 goal
Good luck D
