WFH is great, but one thing I cannot stand is when a boss Slacks, “Have a min to chat?”
Then doesn’t get back to you for 4 hours (or at all) so I’m chained to my desk for the rest of the day waiting.

Agreed. They should either just say what they need to say in slack or book a meeting.

I hate that. and I never stick around to find out - you have 10 mins and then I’m moving on with life lol

like

Omg I know, and the minute you get up will be the exact moment they call lol

like

Whenever I get one of those, I always say “yes but only if you val right now, I’m about to hop into another call in a bit” even if there isn’t another call at all! It’s a complete lie! But guess what? Those mfs always call within about 30 seconds of me saying that.

like

“I have few minutes now before I jump into a meeting”

OMG. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Don't message me until you are ready to talk.

In-house job where im in the office three days a week (commuting an hour from NJ) but work 9-6, some evenings, and rarely weekends, making $450k all in (as breadwinner) OR v10 job with awesome culture and people but working quite a bit more (definitely evenings and some weekends), fully remote and get to see my 3 little kids a fair amount since im WFH and $460 (with salary increasing every year)? Ultimate goal is to go in house but not sure if it's the right time with little kids..

McKinsey & Company I’m in between having accepted my offer and starting. I’ve read advice recommending getting your WFH set up ready before starting, and want to take that. I assume the answer is “no”, but could I spend my $150 one-time WFH allowance now and submit expense receipts after starting? Any chance they’d pay back spending prior to start date that was within a certain window (my last company allowed this for moving-related expenses, as an example) of the start? McKinsey & Company

Hoping for some advice here!!

I’m a senior sales person that just left my first job (where I was ranked top 10% in sales, worked for 5 years, qualified for presidents club 3 times & was very well known & respected) for a new company that will definitely be better, but I am starting over. Also, working from home for the first time (last job deemed “essential”).

What are some things you all have done to stay motivated during the climb of starting over? Also when learning to work from home?

DO YOU JUST ASSUME THE COST OF YOUR MARKETING ACTIVITIES? I am looking to allocate their cost in the marketing budget in a way that won't rely on several layers of assumptions. How do you reliably estimate the cost of different marketing activities (email, social, web, etc) when you don't have specific people or tools allocated to each function and costs are spread across many channels? Ads seems the easiest, but even then there's time and overheads... I've been looking for a reliable model.
