2-3 days remote

Nope

I don't want to live in NYC. Ideally I wouldn't have to live anywhere near it. I'm happy to travel to clients or come in for quarterly meetings but after a full year of success you can't convince me in person is necessary.

A big fear of mine lately has me feeling like a terrible human being. My brother in law had a small covid wedding last year, I was so excited to go but had to cancel last minute because I started miscarrying a few days before the wedding, at 5 weeks. I ended up watching the livestream, and miscarried during the wedding, alone at home (I urged my husband to go to the wedding and that I’d be fine, my parents were checking in on me). I haven’t been able to get preg since. (Contd in comments)

Moving to NYC next year, and my SO is based in Seattle. He is very keen to spend more time with me in NYC, even suggesting living there while remote working is still a thing. I’m a little hesitant bc we’ve only been dating for 2-3 months and it would feel like moving in tgt. Also not sure if i should be looking for a studio or 1br for more space but at a much higher price tag that i have to pay for. Any thoughts?

Have an offer from PWC AC BG as a Sr. Assc. for 12.7 fixed. My friend works at PWC and told me that it is very likely that there'll be a permanant WFH. I have a offer from RSM for 13.6 fixed in Delhi. Is there any polite way that I can ask the HR at PWC to match the offer ? My friend told me not to be aggresive about it. Some other questions: 1.) How's the WLB ? My goal is to leave for international MBA in 2 years. 2.) Onsite opportunities 3.) General culture 4.) Busy season 5.) Work quality

So the WHO has now announced that the risk of Asymptomatic carriers of Covid-19 spreading the disease is quite rare. Coupled with the announcement last week that catching it from surfaces is quite rare as well, shouldn’t we be moving towards full reopening quicker?

How are most teachers plan on giving assessments to students who are remote learners? My school is everyday half-day for students (guardians) who chose to be in school. All other students are remote learners every day. That means I had classes with students who are physically there as student to are there through Google meets. I'm just trying to see what other teachers are doing to balance the two types of learners and how give fair assessments.....

Do any real people actually want schools to reopen as it stands now? Im hearing so much about it but it feels like a weird disconnected political thing and not a live humans with kids thing. *Obv the goal is to get covid under control so kids can go back safely, this is assuming infection rates stay steady or continue to climb

Hey everyone! Second year Deloitte analyst and I’ve been interviewing elsewhere, like many others. Just got told from the recruiter that I will be getting an offer from Apple as a Program Manager in San Jose (big jump lol). Right now I’m living in a MCOL city working remote, but I would need to move for this role (eventually lol). Any ideas on comp, living costs, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I’ve never been out to San Jose or San Francisco, so I’d appreciate any advice or DMs of any sort! Deloitte

Looking to buy a portable laptop for myself. I’m a data engineer by profession and most of the time spend time on the company machine which is a pretty beefy windows laptop. But thinking of getting a MacBook Pro for myself. Mac is good but it’s a bit on the expensive end. What’s your personal machine?
