Others can probably speak on the broader industry trends more knowledgeably but from my perspective in government consulting, it's largely ceded the data science public sector consulting space to its competitors like ACN/BAH/Deloitte.

No advantages. Check the analyst reports and the glass door ratings. IBM has been on a decline for a long while.

IBM's data & analytics is superior to EY & PwC's Data & Analytics practices. But apart from that, I don't really think it's the company name that matters but rather the experience. IBM is well known enough to get calls from recruiters. Having worked there in the past, moving to big 4 has helped get me more interviews at big tech and FAANG. However, I think it's the experience and more YOE I gained that helped rather than the name.

Only big 4 company that has experience that counts is Deloitte and even then....there are better options outside of big 4 for cloud /data engineers
