What advice can people offer for someone that will be a new manager in the next couple of months? I know it’ll be a challenging time but, as someone that wants to stick in PA, what’s worked for you or what have your managers done that you like?
This question is on behalf of my friend:
Her current package is 2.5lpa from a small company (3yrs exp java spring boot) . She got offer from Accenture of 6lpa (fixed) . After this she had interview with cognizant and asked for package of 7 lpa. When she recieved the offer from cognizant it was of 10lpa fixed. Most interesting part after 2 weeks she got revised offer letter from cogni without any discussion of 16lpa with 1L joining bonus.
How can we analyse and suggest her regarding offer.
Moving to LDN hopefully by November. Can anyone please suggest muslim concentrated residential areas? I would really like to stay well connected with the community.
Any information regarding WFH in orcale.
Are they planning to call the employees back to office..???
Recently I had two rounds of interview with KPMG for a content lead role.
The HR, on call, confirmed that I'd cleared the second round and would schedule an on-shore round when the team was available.
Couple of days later, the HR informs me that the position in on hold and they'll call me if something else comes up.
This felt so wrong. Can't figure out if they hired someone prior and were just messing with me? Can I do something here?
A real gem from Henry Ford: "stopping advertising to save money is like stopping your watch to save time."
The struggle is real...
As a generalist with ~3 YOE with non-technical background (Liberal Arts lol), should I get some sort of hard skill before I try to get out of consulting? Honestly think all I’ve learnt are skills to make presentations efficiently and other BS soft skills. I’m not senior enough to have had credible project management experience either so honestly feel like I’m stuck here until I move up a level or two.
Looking for a vacance in a pre occupied 2/3 bhk flat from 8th December.

I’ve recently left the world of consulting and joined a tech startup and my role is to build partnerships with consulting companies and SIs. My working hypothesis is that referral bonuses won’t be enough of an incentive in formalizing a partnership with the likes of Deloitte Digital. You all make your money on implementation but our product is pretty simple right now and easy to implement. How else can startups create relationships with you? We want referrals & for you tell clients about us.
Wanted to gift my bf’s mom a silk scarf for her birthday. Relationship less than 2 years so I don’t want to spend too much on it. His mom is pretty practical and minimalist too. What are some of the brands?
How to invest in Direct Growth Funds? I've created a CAN ID using MF Utilities. It asks me to login and proceed but I don't have my login ID generated. Should I wait for more time as my CAN ID was approved only yesterday?
Hi Fishes, how is employment security in current situation like in PANW? I saw some HR post about their layoffs on LinkedIn. Anything coming for technical team?Palo Alto Networks
I moved for work and my best friends are out of the state. I have found individual friends here, but no reoccurring hang out group. With seasonal affective disorder and anxiety, I find myself not wanting to leave the house and working late. A lot of the activities I like to do are outdoor based and cost $$$ to join indoor version (yoga in the park vs joining a studio). Trying to save money and not lose my motivation—it’s a rough start to the winter. (Yes I have a therapist 💭 & psychologist 💊)

Soo what if I audited the company my brother works for, but didn't realize he worked there until after the audit was already over. For context, for the life of me I could never remember the name of the place he worked, and then my mom said it today and well.... it all clicked.
Can anyone provide some insight on what exit opportunities there are from audit? Is it better to wait until you are a certain rank to leave?
I know my client needs an Accounting Manager. I know this because they’re startup med device company that has their books in complete shambles. The current accounting team isn’t very strong. How do I let the client know that I would be interested in joining them? They’re not actively recruiting for any position but I know they’d benefit from it. Serious responses only :)
Anyone else just hoping to fly under the radar this busy season? I’m planning on not staying online any later than 11 because “we’re not saving any lives here”.
Is it burning a bridge for leaving PA after only less than a year working in the company? I am in the verge of giving my two-week notice.
Anyone else feel like they’re an average performer on a team of high performers, but because of that your review will be lower? Worried because I’m getting through the work timely but just feel like there’s always something I’m being asked to do better. Also worried for upcoming promo to senior, if they’ll say I’m not ready by their standards, but someone else’s standards could be completely different.
I've had a few managers respond when I ask for a few minutes to talk: is everything OK??? You're not quitting right? 😂 This year's amount of people leaving for Industry is brutal!
So far I’ve seen posts about EY, KPMG, and BDO’s upcoming comp reductions. Curious if other firms have made similar announcements? Can’t imagine anyone will be immune to this, just hoping no layoffs
There was an October promotion freeze so I wasn't promoted to Senior and have no motivation to work. I'm interviewing with several companies and have money in the bank so I'm tempted to just put in my two weeks. Any motivation tips or advice?
Financial statement tie-out. Always thought this was a procedure done by Audit. Seeing more and more teams requiring management do it and IA test tie out as a control. What did I miss here? Thanks

What do you think about the present Adler Group case? Will it have consequences for KPMG?
Anyone NOT hate audit?? I seem to exclusively see people complaining that its the worst job ever, but I think its pretty good. Varied work, varied people/locations, and after the first like 5 months there's minimal boring ticking and bashing.
I saw Knives Out this weekend and it was very good, highly recommended for forensic accountants—I had my auditor hat on the whole time and enjoyed the twist in the plot at the end.
Would I be able to work as a part-time employee in audit throughout the time I am in school at PwC ? I have received and accepted an offer for S/F 2023 after i graduate.
I have a colleague who is unvaccinated and tested positive for COVID (he text me to let me know). He lied to the firm about his vaccination status since late last year and he went to the office on Tuesday before he found out on Wednesday that he was tested positive. We were all in the conference room together so, I’m exposed to it as well. He refused to notify the firm about his COVID status and putting all those whom he had come in contact at risk. What should I do?
