50. Then president of my football club. :)

@EY1 Sold your startup or what's going on? I couldn't just chill for 50 years (assuming life expectancy of 80)

SM1: that age includes goals of PPD or doesn't matter?

I don't know what PPD is, man.

PPD = partner, principal, director

I think I'm already the same as a Deloitte director, so yeah. I'm a year or two away from equity partner at MBB. By equity partner I mean I would own part of the company and get to vote. I currently already receive a chunk of my COMO based on firm profits.

COMO should be "comp"

SM1: what's the range, at a MBB, for SM? equity partner?

Depends on profit sharing. New SM and a bad year for the firm (2008?) could be as low as 300-350. Experienced SM and profitable year for the firm (2015?) could be 500s. Partners make more. What's PPD comp at Deloitte, OP?

I would say SMs range from 180-250. Directors start at 250. Partners usually begin in the 500s

Wanting to open a roth IRA and a 529 account. What's the best brokerage? And do they ever do promotions for opening an account?

Also, would it be better to roll a 401k to the IRA or leave it alone? Not sure which has lower fees?

There more than enough threads on here about how much everyone makes, but how about how much we keep? 33% after tax savings rate YTD + max 401k. How are others working towards their FIRE goals?

What's your age and how much do you have in your 401k!?
25 and 40k.
Started contributing max this year.

Any advice on how to pivot from pension outsourcing to insurance/finance?

I want to know what you would consider as a good net worth to retire from corporate job and only do small gigs or something of you own, I am a 32M with two kids and wife not working. I have a net worth of 1.65M AUD with a debt of 550K on my primary residence.

How do you go about personal investing (non 401k) given all of the independence issues? I set up a robo fidelity account and immediately closed it with fears that I would catch the shit list from the firm. Do you all just self manage?

Beginning to invest. Which is better? Merrill edge or fidelity ? Have a BofA bank account and an employer Fidelity account for RSUs. Also have a TRoweprice 401k account from past employer.

Attorney in NYC needing fin advice! Currently max out 401k and HSA and have 85k with Schwab’s intelligent portfolio robo with 30yr target withdrawal and 40k in HYSA. 190k debt but refinanced at 2.9%, 15 year repayment plan. Not sure what to do for other investments. Continue to put into Schwab maybe with a closer target date for passive income? Fundrise or Cadre? Appreciate any advice!

Generally speaking, is it a good idea to get a 401k loan? How much is the interest rate on average? I am so thinking of getting $5k but not sure if I should do it or not.

Has anyone been able to negotiate company 401k matching contributions to start on first day of employment instead of waiting for 1 year? Sounds like a lot to give up.

Mega backdoor question - given my employer allows this, is there any reason to invest anything directly in a brokerage account before maxing out my pretax 19.5 and post tax 401k? I have a healthy Roth IRA balance that has been building for well over 5 years and my understanding is I could pull contributions tax free as needed. No major purchases planned in the next few years and would continue to maintain a healthy emergency fund to cover known/routine expenses.

I’m 30 and my spouse and I want to save a million dollars in 15 years by age 45. I figured 1,000,000/15=66,666/yr need to save. To get to 66,666/yr, need to contribute:
-401k at 19500k x 2
-Roth IRA at 6000 x 2
-remaining $7833 x 2 in a brokerage account

Does this look good? Am I missing something? With discipline 2 people can save 1 million in 15 years?

Has anyone withdrawn there 401k due to emergency? How did it affect your taxes and payout?

Leaving PwC and not going straight to another job. Any advice on rolling over my 401k?

What can I do with my 401K after I resign? Do I roll it out of the employer retirement fund? New to this. Would appreciate advice. Thank you!

Best place/medium to learn all things personal finance? Would be nice if there was a specific guide where I could learn about investing, Roth IRA/401K, index funds, how to manage your money, etc.

How much should I be contributing to 401k to take full advantage of firm match?

Have 50k in cash savings. How best to invest? Already paying for mortgage and 401k.

Pwc folks, can you explain the difference between wealth builder and 401k savings? Is it the same account or are they in different accounts? Just switxhed employers and want to roll over to my current employer’s 401k plan
