My goal is to be a "Barista retiree" in my mid 50's

*And before someone criticizes me for holding too much in cash I have plans for it and it will be in other places by end of July
**I dont include my car (paid in cash) in NW because when I did it would make me nauseous seeing how bad depreciation is

Does it make sense to reinvest pension ( from a job I just left) as down payment for property in Dublin (where I am about to relocate to)? I figure it makes sense given mortgage and rent would amount to about the same and property values have skyrocketed in Dublin in recent years. But I have no clue what I’m doing or what to be mindful of. Help, please!

I just passed 200k in my total investments (401k, brokerage). I know that’s not a lot comparing to y’all but it’s great for me!

Other than that I have a home that I have $210k left and no other debt. TC is $180k as of April. Any suggestions on how to grow investments would be great.

My GC is about to retire...
She has been at the company (investment firm) for three years.
I recently joined the team as corporate counsel. I only have two years of prior firm experience in a non related area.
What should I do? I’ve been brought up to speed on all ongoing matters, but feeling like I won’t be able to handle being the sole legal counsel. Should I push for someone to be hired at GC and I stay at my level, or shoot for the GC role? Would I even be qualified?

Hi all - I'm on a £100-110k base + bonus at a tier 2 firm. This is in the region where personal allowance for tax starts eroding away..
Wondering what options I have to make this as tax efficient as possible (legally), considering a salary sacrifice pension and student loan.
Also what are you investment recommendations? Stocks and Share ISA? What are the good alternatives?

In general (not only during Pandemic) - If you are a fully remote (not due to COVID) worker in a high COL city (lets say NYC/LA/DC/Chicago) and move to a different city/state in the middle of no where (Montana/Puerto Rico/Alaska/Where ever).
Should your employer adjust your income accordingly per your new COL? Aside from state tax/laws/etc... Will your employer have any issues with your move?

Any advice on how to give constructive criticism on a newbie copywriter's writing. I feel like I spent a lot of time in the past two weeks uttering the phrase "I can see what you're trying to do, but that doesn't really work" and then trying to explain why it doesn't work without saying 'this is bad, try again'. How do you articulate why certain parts of writing are good and others are not?

I really want to help the guy and boost his confidence, but it's starting to take its toll.
