Any folks interested in Data Engineering (DE) roles at Amazon? Our team is hiring both L5 (3+ work ex) and L6 data engineers (6+ work ex).
You get the opportunity to work closely with the research science and product teams to automate contact forecasting. With fantastic growth and exposure (Sr. director touch points wkly), this is an ideal opportunity for DE’s looking to make significant contributions.
Please DM if interested. TY!
Late to the game but hit $200+ at 33 and nearing $300 at 38.
To hit the high end numbers OP mentioned (and to those that clear $400 and above) you have to realistically either work at MBB or in one of the high end fields ie M&A, restructuring, S&O at Big 4 or a specialized smaller firm like restructuring with Alix, FTI, A&M and make it to partner or damn close. You can be a big 4 Audit partner and not clear $300 so it’s more about the firm and the field than the level.
Tons of Sr Managers in the big 4 hit 300k. Many 25 year old FAANG engineers make $400k. It's not that hard or elite as you describe. $700k+ is hard.
Base salary only (no performance, promotion, or signing bonus, which fluctuate between 20-40% of additional comp):
21 55k (Started as Analyst)
22 62k (Changed firms)
23 72k (Promoted to Consultant)
24 110k (Changed firms)
25 135k (Promoted to Manager)
26 150k
27 162k
28 175k (Promoted to Senior Manager)
29 190k
30 202k
31 225k
I'm aware that I'm significantly underpaid compared to my peers of similar performance.
A3 what are you expecting at ACN MD L4? I hear it’s not much of a bump from $215k

Agree. This shouldn’t be secret. And isnt really - just ask a PPMD you trust. Thank you P1 for sharing.
100K - 34
200K - 38 (job changes)
300K - 46 (grinded it out)
350K - 48 (move to industry)
I didn’t start off in consulting, EY5. So, no. One of the income boosters was a switch to sales - that landed me a higher base (still sub 200) but allowed me to ask for a higher starting base at the next role which took me over 200. Consulting was most of the grinding out for the last several years. I guess the only way to accelerate would have been to jump jobs, but that’s not something I think would have helped. I do wish I’d started off in consulting sooner, though, the skills I picked up are invaluable.

Base is less than half my comp. Not a super helpful stat.
they said base is not half of TC, a fact many of you seem to be missing.
What are you guys doing to make these figures? 31 for 100k and way below 200k at 33. I live in NY too
Jumping between companies
$100k - 24

Do y'all ever get screwed on bonus, or is that just a B4 thing?

you guys are very successful. I am not sure if many people make that type of money so young. enjoy and be thankful because not everybody get the opportunity to have a great career even when they are talented.
I believe everyone has the opportunity, for some people may be easier than others certainly but opportunities are for the ones who are looking for them.
