If BTC fails for any particular reason it's a wrap on everything else. If ETH fails then RIP to MATIC. LINK would be done as as well I think along with hundreds of other projects running off of the Ethereum network. If ETH fails, then that could be a massive opportunity for Solana, Algo, and Cardano at this point (and probably Fantom). For this scenario, I've diversifed in a way where I would benefit if ETH fails through my holdings of Algo, ADA, DOT, and FTM (just to be clear, DOT is not a ETH competitor, but I could see retailer investors still allocating to anything else not running on the ETH network, which would benefit DOT). My biggest mistake was in not looking into SOL so I do not own any. I could have potential split my large purchase on it, but it will went towards ADA in April/May I think. Apart from ETH competitors, I also have bought crypto that either does something unique and has meaningful partnerships or actually has a good use case. For that reason I have VET and HBAR in my portfolio. I also hold XRP (more of a speculative bet with a potentially huge payoff) and XLM. Regarding XLm, I actually have used many times of the years to transfer money insanely quickly and for cheap. It does what dogecoin trys to do much better and curiously Elon and others won't bother promoting it. BTC, ETH, ana ADA are by far my largest allocations. I will not hesitate to start taking profit on ADA if approaches $5 - I see the largest risk in HODLing this long term

Right now the thing with the most potential to do that is ETH. That could change but it has so much development and support relative to others ecosystems and it's moving to Proof of Stake. Even though BTC is ancient, instead of replacing it entirely, developers are working around it through various solutions (i.e. the lightning network).

If XRP wins it's case against the SEC that will significant and count as a win for all of crypto. I would also feel more comfortable holding long term and could see it going parabolic shortly after a win.

Ah yes A3, the person who says ripples case is one of the most significant in all of crypto and talks of overnight millionaires and billionaires is clearly the person to declare whether someone else knows what they’re talking about 🤣 Good luck buddy! Met plenty of folks just like you in 2017-2018 who similarly “knew” what they were talking about. I held XRP since 2017, exited at a great time, and also work in the industry. You seem to want to get rich quick. I hope you succeed!

There’s always someone who thinks their shitcoin is a good investment because it had a random short term spike during a bull market 😩. Adoption for what exactly? Bag holding? By bag holders?

Is anything other than BTC and ETH considered alt nowadays?

like

Technically anything other than BTC is an alt coin. However, most would say BTC and ETH are the primary and everything else is alt. Alts are also called shit coins but there are some good alts now.

Algo - waiting for ISDA and CBDC announcement

I think SOL is too centralized. I believe ADA has the best combination of smart contracts with low fees.

Really all cryptos will - just make sure you invest in good projects/environments and you should be net positive in a few years.

Its so hard to know that. Ethereum will always be around IMO. They will continue to upgrade and change. I like ADA as well. All the current alts will continue to grow and improve

FTM

Ach

Harmony Protocol ($One) & Celer Network L2 ($Celr) - both solid projects with great working teams and low Market capital hence more room for growth

ZCX

NEAR. Celo. Arweave. All SC platforms with different use cases that I believe in strongly. Most of my portfolio are in them.

It’s more than just Solana. It’s pretty much permanent storage for anything. Lots of NFT platforms using it. Or will use it. NEAR is a layer one platform. Super fast and cheap but built with the non crypto user in mind. There’s a video on YT where one of the founders of NEAR talks to the founder of Sol and compare the two chains.

Omg!
