McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hiiii! I’ve been at my job for a year and a couple of months now & I’ve gotten rather bored because the work is repetitive, not challenging, and hasn’t really allowed me to learn or grow as much as I would’ve liked to. Given how I’m still paying a ton of money for my postgrad in Business Comms (that I haven’t really gotten the chance to use), I’ve been thinking of entering the world of consulting. Any word of advice? PwC McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group KPMG

I’ve started asking people what steps they’ve taken to answer their question before I help. If it’s forcing people to do work I’ve stopped reinforcing it and let them fall flat on internal reviews 🤷🏻♂️ I’m not your babysitter
I think that, as PMs, some hand holding is necessary. The job is to manage projects, after all. However, I do think that people in other departments take advantage of this and expect us to do the thinking for them. It's always a good idea to establish boundaries and not give in to every request or answer every dumb question, especially when people are asking questions that they should be asking their supervisors. Establish a balance between being helpful and being an enabler, and don't be afraid to say no or piss off your art director if you need to.
You can give a RACI a shot. Even if it wasn't be rolled out, you can at least use it to guide a discussion w/your PM buddies or your supervisor. A lot of inefficiency in an org surrounds people not having a common understanding of what SHOULD be happening.
What does accountability look like for your doers? Is there any?
