Potential to make a lot of money
If you get a decent amount of shares, then you will make a good amount of money. If your share amount is not significant, then a good entry into your CV which shows you have experience working at a company that went through IPO.
I’m joining a pre-IPO company. I say every tech company is unique. Do the market research and figure out their competitive advantage. Keep in mind that 50% - 80% of start ups never meaningfully exit. While it is possible to make a lot of money, it’s also possible to have thousands of shares that are absolutely worthless.
Yeah I was gonna say the same. It's basically a calculated gamble to some extent, but even then there's 0 guarantee that things will work out. If you feel confident about the product and the market potential etc, then I would say go for it. Or at least join with the attitude of maybe this will work, maybe this won't so you're not disappointed if it doesn't pan out
Equity and growth opportunties for your career
