Anything with Young in it. Young lions. Young guns. Young Jeezys.

I may have made that last one up.

Young guns and Young lions, both are for young professionals under age 30 I believe. But for Young Guns, you need to have work experience for more than 2 years to apply.

Which ones can I enter if I have a job?

Theres also the Young Shits briefs. Those can actually lead to a job. There's also the one show young ones. Also One Show has a travelling bootcamp in major cities. Those often have internships for winners, but also help to build your book

Being back in a city I disliked and moved away from for a temporary contract is putting me in such a weird headspace.

Does anyone have a business attorney you recommend? I have a contract that needs reviewing this week. Based in NY, but an understanding of CA law could also be helpful.

Hello Amazonians, anyone working as a Sr Associate HR exits in Amazon.. How is the work and work culture there? Any insights?

Me, to my almost two year old: "stop throwing that ball in the house"
Two year old stops, puts the ball down, and kicks it.

...you win this round, toddler.

Looking for a remote/hybrid job working on Global Information Reporting (FATCA/CRS). Prefer to be in house. In the NYC/NJ/CT area. I would appreciate any leads. Thanks!!

Happy #zerofucksfriday (but is it really Friday?)

Partners - how does your firm incentivize Partners to collaborate and bring the best of your firm's thinking to each account without getting into a turf war?
Why would a Partner at your firm reach out more broadly and pull in more (v. fewer)? At my current firm, I am seeing some information / relationship hoarding. I recognize this is common across the board but I am curious how your firm is tackling this institutionally.

Do I have a chance at Wharton with below median GRE but decent GPA from top UG, solid impact investing experience (they’re pretty big on that), quant heavy job, and interesting story? Sri Lankan female. Not sure whether to even apply; could save the time for an easier school :/

My ADHD has been a massive barrier for me in my career. I can’t stay at a job for more than 1.5 years.

My ADHD keeps me from being a consistently great performer. When I manage my ADHD, I am amazing. And when I fail to manage it, I fall short. And everyone then wonders why I can’t do my basic job responsibilities.
It’s frustrating. I am V qualified, talented and capable, but this thing is killing me. Everyone I know is getting ahead and I’m constantly struggling even though I’m ambitious.

As a fourth year, how many hours of your hours are billables per week?

Hi Fish Bowl friends! I have my first round of interviews at SpaceX tomorrow, and it’s for a Customer Service position. Anyone here has gone through interviews with SpaceX? If so any tips? What questions were asked?

Five years in and I just now realized my resume wasn’t justified. Fml…

Hi fishes,

anyone who has gone through hiring committee round. What's average it takes, for me it's been 4 weeks and still nothing concrete. Is that normal ? What could be possible reasons here.

Got let go yesterday. They are offering one months severance. Can I still apply for unemployment (NY State) now or do I wait until the month of severance is over. Should be a lump sum.

Do most firms start reporting years in September or January? Prior firm did an August year for counting hours and then another did January (both Amlaw 200). Looking at an Amlaw 100 to lateral in the fall (so trying to anticipate how much of the year I’ll have). I’ll ask what bonus/reporting year but just curious if most follow the same.

What’s the connotation with Tudor? Is it really a “Rolex” for people that can’t afford a Rolex?

Any feedback on Freshfields in NY - specifically their litigation department? Many thanks in advance.

I just started a new job and I’m battling really bad imposter syndrome. Does anyone else consistently have to force themselves to overcome this? I’m having a hard time because it becomes crippling and leads to toxic self-editing.

Guys that grew their hair long that are creatives at agencies. What’s that experience like? I’m thinking of growing out my hair but am a little worried about coming off as subversive to clients.

Counterpoint: Maybe I’ll look subversive to clients and come off as more credible.

Okay, so what level is Creative Lead? Is it ACD? CD?

I’m thinking of turning down a job offer without anything (or anything full-time) lined up. Tell me if I’m being stupid, given the current economy, or if it’s better to hold out.
Context: I was reduced from full-time to part-time freelance at my old (current?) job. The place where I have an offer is very young, doesn’t have a creative director (I would be answering to marketing), and the offer is well below what I believe is average for midlevel in the city they’re in.

What’s the best thing a CD ever did for you?

Curious, who has off on Monday and who doesn't?

Tell me about your career guardian angel. Describe the person that gave you a shot, who took a chance on you. Times that would have gone VERY differently without them?

Is being a presentation designer at a good agency a good way to get your foot in the door?

Told by a CD that I have the potential to be “more than just an ad creative,” so he didn’t see a fit for me at his shop. If the result is me not having a job is that really a compliment?

Got laid off. And is my first time.
Lost confidence, motivation. Ever had this experience before? What did you do? How did you get up?

How do you explain that you’re available immediately without revealing you were laid off from your previous job?

In the running for an in-house position. Pay is more than I get now, but the title is a step down. I know it’s petty, but it’s tough to think about.

What should a mid level AD be making ?

Making hard push to go in-house with a startup, billable work has dried up.

Question: what’s a good salary for VP Mkt & Sales? And commission?

Would you recommend your agency to other creatives?
