Align to non-M&A offering but do a lot of work in the space (DD, integrations). B4 recruiter reached out and wants me to provide resume for review with hiring partner in M&A space. Does it work if I provide a bio with summary of M&A projects (client names removed) instead of a traditional resume? Also plan to list education and past experience but primary focus on recent M&A work
has anyone ever interned as KPMG’s Lighthouse Data Engineer and Developer? I’m trying to find out how the work is and if there’s a wide range of exit opportunities. Would you recommend starting off at B4 or just work at a tech comp? KPMG
What’s the day to day like in audit at a big 4?
What can I do in the next 4 months to boost my chances? Shooting for HSW and MIT, and want to do Tech/VC/Entrepreneurship after MBA. Background: Asian female, 3 YOE at big 4 consulting by round 1 deadline this year, 4 YOE by enrollment time Stats: GMAT 740, GPA 3.9 from big 10 public school Rec: those who know me well went to T20-25, those who went to M7 don't necessarily know me well EC: strong undergrad club leadership, none outside of firm initiatives since I started consulting
Thoughts on internal audit at big 4?
Asking for a friend.. Say you left an audit firm and entirely by chance you ended up working for an audit client's company (a Big 4 firm in this case), but for a different audit team. Is there anything you need to worry about for independence rules?
AP at McK vs Big 4 D/MD? Currently expert Pr and hoping to achieve equity Partner in 2-3 years.
Do B4 accountants make more than B4 consultants?
Is it normal for teams to lose it on each other on a regular basis? I’m fairly new to the B4 and never experienced it at former firms. It starts at the top and it’s starting to take a toll on my performance. Not sure if I need to suck it up and deal with it or start thinking about changing teams. TIA
Any partners who switched from B4 to MBB, if so what was your experience and how was the transition? Would you do it again?
What the typical Sign On Bonus amount Big 4 companies offer ? Would be great if you can share the SOBs got? $, level?
Poll for the group - How common are PIPs at the various Big 4? Is it like the whole bottom 10% of everyone’s group or a once-in-a-while-this-person-is-dumb kind of thing? Have heard of quite a few within my group and wondering if it’s normal or something isn’t quite right.
What made you decide to quit or resign from the big 4? I am super tired already and don't think I can perform well anymore. Seriously considering leaving without any job prospect as I can't - cont'd
Are there any Big 4 or middle market firms that have national tax/policy (WNTS, NTS, etc.) practices that won’t work you to death?
How’s the consulting work life balance at Big 4 in Europe Do folks work more than 45 hours through the week and is it normal to have to work on weekends?
If I eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's Milk and Cookies ice cream every night but eat 100% healthily otherwise and exercise moderately, is that ok for my health? My life is in your hands.
Have any of your agencies taken steps towards acknowledging and addressing mental health issues in your office? Care to share, good or bad? Hoping to get ideas to take back to our leadership. Thanks!!
I have a job interview tomorrow. It’d be more pay and a lot less stressful but in the back of my mind I wonder if I do end up getting it’d be a mistake. Continued...
Business class travel? Joining Accenture in a Senior Manager role in Sales which would require me to travel to India and other international locations from the US. Whats are the travel perks at Accenture ? Eligibility for business class?
30 y.o. M here, just changed my 401k allocation from a target retirement fund to 85% S&P500 and 15% international index funds. Anyone think this is stupid? Thoughts appreciated!
My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
Hi. I have a question. In a world where COVID is under control, how would you feel if your companies went back to being fully in the office? But maybe others were adopting a hybrid model- some days remote, some days in the office. Would it make you want to work elsewhere? How important is being able to work remote (at a location of your choice, not at client /travelling) a few days a week to your job satisfaction?
Freelance PMs, what’s your hourly rate? I’m considering going freelance vs full time employee. Also curious about any pros or cons you may want to share.
I've been putting my 401k into a target date fund, but the risk/upside just isn't high enough given I'm not retiring for another 30 years. Thoughts on putting it all in a large-cap growth fund (VIGIX)? Returns have been solid over last 10 years. Investing through work, so don't have all funds available to me.
Stay safe Chicago.
SC offer from Deloitte in transaction services in a HCOL city - 85 base plus standard bonus. I asked her if there was more wiggle room bc that’s what I’ll get at my current firm when I make senior. Am I out of line with my expectations or right in asking for more?
Going to India for first time stamping, I was advised to avoid Mumbai and Chennai due to increased scrutiny so I ve picked another location. What questions can I expect when you interview in a (1/2)
I have to present to a client via video chat today. Guess I need to actually put on makeup and get dressed ...maybe just the top half.
When jumping from consulting 3 YOE to a manager role at f500, is there a signing bonus? What should i be looking for in a compensation / offer package?
What’s the best way to determine if a role at a startup or smaller company is stable/ a good next step for your career (outside of comp.)? I’m 10+ years in but am navigating a discipline and possible industry shift together.
I’m interviewing somewhere that wants me to have “Medicaid knowledge”. This is so vague but other than the cursory knowledge I have and knowing the products that the company offers. What are some resources for me to come up to speed so that I can speak intelligently? TIA
I’m pretty sure colleagues at my firm are inflating their billable hours. Is this the norm? I suspect many of you will think this is obvious and/or that I’m naive but wtf? I find hitting 2200 is tough even with a good sized work load. Am I just expected to play the game? I don’t want to sound self-righteous but if most are lying just to make the requirement, then maybe the requirement should be lower.
Thoughts on EYParthenon? Culture, type of projects, and package compared to top consultancies not being part of a big4?
