Hi all, my fiancé and I are due in September with our first. Would you recommend getting a night nurse? And, even if you’re up breast feeding every few hours anyway?
Interested in perspectives on training a very inexperienced person (high school graduate) to be the assistant you want them to be (requiring patience and training to develop skills the person may or may not be able to develop) versus hiring an experienced executive assistant (20+ years experience known to be excellent) for a partner slowly developing book but rapidly developing leadership (on executive level) at the firm.
On LinkedIn, if you live in a small city but work in a major city, do you list the major city as your home location? I would think you’d get a lot more hits in that cass
My husband was clearing out all the safari windows I left open on my phone (which was probably in the hundreds) and he saw one my my google searches that said, “my in laws suck”.. whoops. At least he now knows how I feel 😂
How to handle working with someone who frustrates you immensely? I work with someone who is one level above me hierarchically and is an ultimate micromanager (not one agenda or recap can be without edits) and is rude about establishing that they have dominance. The more senior leaders on the team are awesome. It’s this one coworker who just got promoted and is now stepping on me constantly. Thanks!
After nearly 20 years in the military serving in T&E and HR roles, I’m considering moving on and have been conducting lots of research into consulting. BS, MA, and SPHR cert - no MBA. I’m looking for suggestions or advise about transitioning. DC Metro area is likely landing spot.
Can anybody help me understand the levels of 'solution consultants' at ServiceNow? I see open jobs for 'Advisory SC', 'Inside. SC', etc.
Salary/OTE for these titles would be beneficial as well..

How do you split origination credit?
Hello everyone , I am a recent 2021 undergraduate with a B.S in Business( major: Marketing & Entrepreneurship). I have 5 years of luxury retail management experience but I am looking kick start my career in product management. I am looking to network and find opportunities to begin my career pivot. Is there anyone who is willing to connect with me?
Hello! I am a Sales Engineer position with sales exp in the manufacturing sector and recently relocated to Seattle. I have been looking for a position and been interviewing with a few different companies. I have had yoe: 6 (4 of which were in sales). I was hoping to get some input on what fair compensation would be. The range of salaries I have seen so far is 85-95k base + 30-80k commission (total: 120-180k). I am interviewing with a startup wondering if it's fair for me to ask them to match
I’ve spent years trying to find a task management system that didn’t make me feel bad about myself and all the things I wasn’t doing. So I decided to build my own. If opening your to do list gives you anxiety, I’d love your thoughts on Quatro.
How do you handle working with a very unorganized person? I am extremely organized myself and keep notes and open item lists, but the anxiety of the other person's mess drives me insane.
I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!

Thoughts on investing retirement accounts in a highly leveraged index fund? Would like to be more aggressive than a standard S&P 500 index fund but don’t want to pick out individual stocks. Good or bad idea?
I have ~12K sitting in my CapitalOne burning a hole in account for 0.4% interest. Want to make use of the 7% i-Bond interest.
What's the penalty should I choose to liquidate sooner than 6 months? Don't want to get locked in.
My wife and I each have our 401ks through Vanguard. What fund should we allocate them to? And why? It seems like the wisdom is to just allocate 100% to the 50, 55 or 60 fund.
Stock market, please bust now. 🤣🤣
I have a Rollover and SEP IRA alongside my current 401k.
My Roth account has the lowest balance because historically I've taken the tax deduction for pre tax contributions to the SEP and Rollover.
I understand if I contribute the money to Rollover and then backdoor to Roth, I will pay tax pro-rata based on the contribution percentage of total Rollover/SEP account balance (majority tax on funds that have grown).
Q: Can I open another traditional IRA solely for the purpose of the backdoor?
I have about 18k in graduate student loans that are on pause till 5/2022 and have about 23k in cash. Assuming no other debt, what's the best way to handle this? I live at home so no huge expenses either. Is it a good idea to pay off the entire loan balance in May, or do I take advantage of the discounts in the stock market?
My employer 401k and my personal IRA are both managed by Vanguard. I just realized how much my vanguard 2050 retirement 401k plan (VFIFX) is underperforming compared to the SP500 last 10 years.
Is there anything I can do with my Employer 401k account? The account doesn’t seem to let me pick my own stocks/funds. Can I transfer a portion of my 401k to my personal IRA, and rebalance from there, when I’m still working at the company?
Wife and I were thinking of getting a 2 seater sports car (Corvette, F-Type, Cayman, or Supra), we want to wait at least 5 years before having kids and were thinking this is a perfect time to get one. Although it is probably the dumbest financial decision, we would rather enjoy a sports car young than in retirement. Wondering if I should finally pull the trigger and get one?
Help! I'm afraid I might be doing something wrong. I am paying for my Traditional IRA with my salary (so after tax). When I withdraw it, it will also be taxed. Where is the benefit?
HHI is $265 and I believe we will be in a lower tax bracket when we retire (hence not using roth)
Looking at switching from my current savings account to either Ally Bank Online Savings (1.10% APY) or American Express High Yield Savings Account (1.15% APY). Anyone have experience with either of the two?
Is anyone aware of this Hiltons Honors American Express Aspire Card!?
Bought Alibaba back in 2020 and it’s been downhill from there. Should I sell off the $3k max for tax loss harvesting? Does this just reduce my income tax on that 3k?? No other investment sales this year. New to this, thanks.
What can I do better than below from savings perspective?
- max out 401k, max Roth IRA, $500 per month in kids 529 and $1500 per paycheck in brokerage account on VOO, VTI, QQQ and ITOT.
Thoughts on the Marcus Investment robo advisory rolled out by Goldman a few weeks ago? They charge low fees which is great, but I have a hard time seeing what makes it different than others.
SQQQ is up...there's a bright spot after all.

You should if you can afford to not use your HSA funds and let it grow. It's the only triple tax advantaged account.
Depending on where it is, I'd invest it in something like VTSAX or FSKAX/FZROX.
It’s the best retirement account. It grows tax free, interest free and is a deduction from income.
In my HSA, I'm doing aiming for 75% VTI/QQQM and 25% VXUS.
From the 75% bucket, I think I will have 20% of that consist of QQQM.
You should invest if you can, VTSAX or FSKAX
