Hi - hoping to get some insight/advice. I’ve been in house at a large private company for a year in a general corporate role (governance, M&A, etc.). I work with the global teams (so it’s a 24 hour job) and it’s relentless—non-legal teams constantly dump work they don’t want to deal with on my 2 person team, but then disappear if there’s something in their remit that I need help with. There’s also just not enough hours in the day to get my work done. Is it like that everywhere?

Any thoughts on changing fields of law? I have been actively networking and trying to get a position with an admiralty and maritime law firm. This is a niche field of law and it has been really difficult to break into (almost no job postings and everyone knows each other)any suggestions?

I’m currently doing IR work but would like to do something more on the technical side (ie: more forensics or technical). Does anyone know if forensics firms or any firm that offers a mix ? I have both a Cipp-Us and cyber/ Sec+ certs.

Who buys stock in agency holding companies? That’s never even crossed my mind.

I joined a company very recently as a marketing director. We hired an agency to help with everything from branding to paid media and website optimization. We paused rebrand work because it was directionless. For paid media there wasn’t a brief, so I had my team put one together for the agency and we were very prescriptive with what we were looking for. The agency didn’t deliver and I’ve reached the conclusion they’re not a good fit for us. I’ve never cut ties with an agency. Any advice??

1. How does EPAM compare to Amdocs? Regarding the job satisfaction, projects, Permanent WFH, etc.

I just started meds yesterday and the change in my focus and attention to detail is mind blowing. My only concern is, just yesterday I had a tough feedback session with my manager around how I’m taking too long to complete my work, giving them anxiety around close deadlines. I have received the OL from Boeing (DOJ not given). HR said there is a BGV & medical check only after that they'll proceed further. Its been 2 weeks now but i haven't got any update from them or any request to submit my documents. I have tried to contact HR but no response.

I have only given them my passport & current company's payslip at the time of salary nego.

I’d love a gut check here on taxes - we are using an H&R Block person but I’m not convinced the calculations were done correctly. My husband was issued shares of his employer, a privately held company, in early 2020 according to his 1099b (of which there are multiple, im not entirely sure why). The forms all say it was held until later in 2021, so over a year. Our accountant is saying we are going to be taxed in the 32% bracket, because income from the shares being sold is included (cont)
