Look for places that are doing the kind of work you want to do. The right place is different for everyone. I started at a smaller agency, which gave me more access to bigger projects, better mentors, and client-facing roles. Even though it wasn’t perfect, i made the best of my position and opportunities, and now I’m at my dream job. Good luck to you wherever you end up!

Some agencies are more writer- centric than others. A place like The Martin Agency, or a solid Minneapolis shop is a good start.

CD1 I’m at Grow in Norfolk, VA! Small digital agency (which I prefer), top tier clients, career-building opportunities, fun briefs, A+ team and talent, close knit culture, positive & helpful mentors, cool community involvement projects, beautiful office, and plenty of free food & beer 😉 only downside is the location, but I’m trying to make the best of that too 🙃
