I could be wrong but I think it’s more about finding a good recruiter than the company per se. You want someone who understands your experience and what you want to do next, and not just try to push every role they get. A good recruiter in my opinion is just someone who is not pushy and gets you roles that make sense.

As someone who started his career years ago with a recruiting firm, most are boiler room sales shops. The key is to get a good recruiter. All firms have great resources to find candidates but the key is a recruiter who’s genuinely working to find the best fit for all open requirements/roles. Most firms have crazy metrics to hit so they smile and dial any candidate that is near a fit. In sum, if you find a good recruiter, stick with them and touch base every so often and let them know you’re still in the job market.

Also make sure the company specializes/works with firms that you actually want to move to.
Any recs, D1?
M1 unfortunately no. I only worked with two earlier this year when I wasn’t sure what I wanted. One was legitimately awful and the other nothing to write home about. Ended up figuring it out on my own and will leave the firm soon :) but the type of job I decided to go for doesn’t typically hire through recruiters.
