Stop worrying about your chances. Just outperform others at your current role, and take that experience with you when you apply to another firm. If you have some special reason you'd be a fit at an international loc then go for it.
You can do whatever you want really, you just need grit. Nothing is easy - it's all about how badly you want it.
You're asking the wrong question... It's more like what type of industry experience do I need to get to make a move to the big 3 from where you're at now.
I would say it's all about who you know. Partners can put anyone through to at least an interview so maybe focus on building that relationship?

I would have expected more from a McKinsey. Outperforming others has little to do with transferable experience. Also - what special reason? Why do I need one? It's just something I want to try.
+ I'm not worried. Just wondering if others have had similar experiences.
