Currently getting an MBA (Big 12 school in Texas, not UT) and working as an implementation consultant with an ERP company. My goal is to get into strategy/transformation consulting with one of the big four. Worth it to apply now (I do meet qualifications) or wait until I graduate December 2022?
I’m a grad student, majoring in computer science. Eager to work for co-op / internship in spring/summer/winter 22! Any leads and referrals would be appreciated!
Anyone get the CIPP/M cert? Worth it?
Working in Europe temporarily. Have an option to do Executive MBA, it’s around 70-90k Euros for an year. Another option I have is doing part time PhD in Management. It’s around 35-40k Euros for 4 years. Any thoughts on which one would be more useful? Currently work in a T2 in their digital practice. Had plans of shifting to MBB 3-4 years back but lost interest after
Hi All, I'm 5+ experienced in IBM DataPower, secondary skills include working on WAS, MQ, Jboss, Tomcat - shell scripting to automate basic stuff. Holds certification in AWS Cloud Practitioner. Knowledge of DevOps tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, GIT, SonarQube. Please let me know of any opportunities
Selling points of being a CPA and CFE going into Managing Consulting without getting a MBA.
Is it possible to have good performance reviews but not receive a full time offer after a summer internship?
I'm a senior finance major planning to take the CISA instead of the CFA/CPA so I can get to manager. What are the best CISA prep programs/books for a non-IT major?
Is taking an internship at a very good/very big agency worth It? Any horror stories of not getting a job and screwing yourself after an internship concludes?
Do you count internships in your years of experience? What if it was a long internship that didn't feel like interning and just felt like full-time but was labeled internship?
I am pursuing post graduation in Finance. And looking for a summer internship in Finance field in Toronto. I applied online in many banks and financial institutes but got no response. Do you guys have any other suggestions in mind?
Why did you get an MBA or why are you getting an MBA? Feeling very lost as my ultimate goal is to relocate to my country of origin (developing country) to pursue my entrepreneurial journey (cotd)
If I did an internship, should I remove it on LinkedIn to help recruiters? Because if recruiters just look at YOE, would they screen me out when looking at my dates being 1yr too long for my title?
Wharton EMBA worth it? Late career starter so limited white collar experience but interesting background/past life. Also have kids to support so can’t do a full time program. Want the MBA for career boost ($), as an entry to faang/MBB and to have more security for future opportunities. Worth it? Does the EMBA have the same faang/MBB recruitment access and weight as full time?
How much does deloitte USI offer for the role of Consultant in their S&A practice. Yoe: 5, post mba(tier 1) : 1
Hey fam. Appreciate your inputs on this: I used to be a software developer and currently work as a tech risk consultant (CISA, CRISC certified). Have completed a couple of cyber courses but do not have prior cyber experience. Most cyber sec job postings require prior experience in cloud, aws, devops etc. Applied to a couple of roles but no avail. A) Can I start a career in cyber security without prior experience? B) Will CISSP or relevant cyber certifications help?
Considering doing a masters. Would my 3 year degree (related field) + MBA (unrelated field) be enough to be equivalent of the 4 year degree in the US?
Trying to get a better understanding of the difference in hour requirements between Big 4 tax and a law firm. I’ll be joining a firm that has a 1850 billable requirement with bonus eligibility starting at 1900. In Big 4 tax I regularly worked 50 hour weeks but had low billables (~30hr per week) b/c there wasnt always work to do and quite a bit of admin. Can you hit 1900 working 50 hour weeks, or are most people putting in closer to 60 hour weeks?
Does anyone maybbbbbe think that this new “spike” in corona virus cases could be possibly caused by these massive riots in every major city? Not saying the riots are bad or wrong, but let’s not kid ourselves and say these aren’t a contributing factor. So when people are surprised at the USAs rising rates, I mean come on...
EY-Parthenon (GDS) TSE-IT Team. What does it do? What would be work like? Does it have wfh policy just like EY GDS? Need help please
Frustrated with work as we all are. Single mom insurance defense litigation for mid sized NYC based firm. Base salary is 136k nominal bonuses. Struggling to meet work demands (deadlines, billable hours) and then also struggling financially. Just curious if what I am making is going rate, am of counsel after taking 6 years off of practice 10+ years practicing. Thanks!
In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?
Is it possible to pass REG in a month of studying? I am going to take vacation about 2 weeks before the exam as well.
First time I interviewed at my current firm I didn't make it past my second round due to a bad review from an interviewer. Applied again a year later and got hired. In between that year, the interviewer who wrote me a bad review got fired due to poor performance. Moral of the story, it sucks that one person can mess up your job search so badly but don't give up! Often times it's not you, it's them!
I have many years of Cobol development/maintenance. Years ago, I had to retire for personal reasons. In the interim, I became a victim of several chronic conditions. With the patient care of several good [they ARE out there!] doctors and with the loving and patient care of my dear wife, I ultimately made a complete, better-than-new recovery. Well, now I want to return to my career as a top computer professional. How can I get a prospective employer to consider me?
EY recruiter wouldn’t give me a solid figure for intl tax manager sign-on bonus. Do you typically have to go through the whole interview process before you get a number?
Anybody reading books about real estate investment or related topics? Drop your recommendations! (Except Rich Dad, Poor Dad 🙄🤢)
Does anyone know anything about Alpha FMC. Curious to hear the culture, projects, and opportunities?
MBB really missed the boat on this practice area
Is it worth it to get an executive mba if I’m not working in the field I want while I’m getting it?
I got an offer from Deloitte and the role is Lead solution advisor. I am a python developer with devops knowledge. Am i consultant or not? Is there any mistake from the hr team? As far i know lead solution advisor not applicable to IT industry. Could anybody explain?
Does anyone know the process for applying/changing agencies within Publicis Groupe? What is the typical salary bump?
What is the salary range for a Senior Associate in PwC’s valuation practice? Does it range by group (financial modeling v. Core valuation)?
German court ruled that a Muslim man who refused to shake the hand of a woman should not receive German citizenship. He did not do so for religious regions. I am pro-immigration and also think people need to have freedom of religion, but at the same time it can be seen as discriminatory for women so got me wondering what’s acceptable and what’s not. Thoughts?
I’m trying to take a leave of absence and I need a medical professional to provide evidence for short term disability claim benefits but I haven’t been able to find a PCP or therapist for the past year. I can’t take unpaid leave since I need some income and my healthcare. I’m literally at rock bottom and so burnt out and stressed that I have almost daily anxiety attacks. I don’t know what to do. Anyone else been in this situation and any advice?
I'll be joining the consulting world very soon and am thinking about getting a new personal credit card. My meal expenses are per diem so I'm thinking about the AmEx Gold card as it has 4x points on dining. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on personal cards for consultants and how to go about my corporate card as well! TIA
