This comes up every week or so. The tax is no different than any other wage income. The difference is that there is higher withholding on the bonus payment because the taxing authority doesn't know what your ultimate rate will be.
Based on the fact you cant solve this simple Tax / Google / Math 101 problem, your bonus was cancelled.
NYC is nearly 50%. My signing bonus (idk if that's taxed differently than YE bonuses) was taxed at like 46%
Geez man. Look up concept of tax brackets for your federal and state.
It's based on your gross taxable wages and the tax rate for your band.
And state. NY nails them. Other states, not so much
Mine is usually 40%
