What are people’s top book suggestions for first year finance analysts? Looking for something more career/development oriented than stories like the Big Short. Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss and What Every Body is Saying by Joe Navarro are two that I liked.

uncommon sense for the thoughtful investor by Howard Marks — It reiterates important concepts in our field and makes it much more digestible. as someone in portfolio construction I wish someone had handed this to me earlier in my career

Just realized I misread your post - thought you WERE looking for narratives. More development related:
- The Intelligent Investor (Graham) is required reading for anyone in finance. I similarly think The Little Blue Book that Beats The Market (Greenblatt) has some value in developing a mindset
- both written by ex-McK people, but I think the principles outlined in Problem Solving 101 (Watanabe) and Pyramid Principle (Minto) are excellent for anyone in white collar jobs
- Principles by Ray Dalio is a great book for working on your inner game written by someone who’s done incredibly well in the industry

We currently use Salesforce, quick books, and excel, we’ll be consolidating a lot of accounting and finance stuff into netsuite and integrating it with Salesforce
