I am looking to upskill my PM capabilities with the objective of landing a senior product role at a FAANG company. My past experience is all in startups cofounding and exiting 2 over 7 years. What courses would you recommend? Product school - PL certificate? Others?
Currently making $100k base in LA -- but considering a move to NY, cost of living calculators say ~110 would be equivalent.
Is it reasonable to expect a salary increase transferring offices within the same firm?
What would you consider to be a base salary worth moving for if you liked your current firm $120-130?
Anyone have experience with moving from consulting to a strategy director/account planner role at a creative/marketing agency? E.g. R/GA, AKQA, HUGE, etc?
What are those roles like? How is the culture different than consulting?

I am trying to move from my farming role back to an outbound prospecting position. I have a couple screening calls for some pretty awesome companies and I would love some pointers on how to beat the objection that I have only been in my farming role since June. How would you sell the fact you want to go back to SDR, I am sick and tired of non revenue generating activity and miss having a list to attack.
Any one at the Associate level willing to share their salary, location and years of experience? Are you entitled to overtime pay? I'm an Associate in NYC, 25 years exp, no overtime pay I work at least 15 hours extra every week. I really believe I have been low balled so I'm trying to understand the salary range for an Associate. It appears a lead EA who is a level down and entitled to OT makes more money. That doesn't make sense please share your information and DM if you prefer. Thank you.
Why does no one discuss the real elephant that’s in the room? Most people hired in tech the last few years weren’t qualified. A few years of woke friends hiring woke friends lead us here. The positions that are getting laid off are mostly admin/recruiter related (jobs with transferable skills most people can do). It’s not the end of the world, people will find other jobs. Just no more made up titles making 6 figures at home watching Netflix (good thing).
What is the best proportion to have in salary components wrt basic and flexible pay.
Is it good to have more amount in flexible pay.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions. Thank you!
In a low level marketing position that I learned on the job. I'd like to make this career but don't know where to start with regard to course/education. I took a Foundations in SM Marketing Certificate but that's it. Thinking google ads/seo? Not even sure what direction is feasible/lucrative/growing. I'm a 45yo mom working from home w only an outdated associates in my pocket so the long college thing isn't an option. I need to be making a living wage while I learn.
What exit opportunities are you considering? Desk head, PM, buy side if you’re on sell side, something different?
Any advice on how to go about getting an entry level scrum master position? Everyon me keeps telling me to lie on my resume but I’m horrible at lying.🥺🥺🥺
The tech consulting firm I work for here in Houston is looking to hire a Python Developer
PM me on LinkedIn with your resume and I will pass it to the hiring manager!
So I just landed my first job as a genuine Project Manager. I’m curious, is it worth it to go and get a PMP, or even a Scrum/Product Owner cert? What kind of salary leverage have you seen with it? For instance, my current salary without the certification is $65,000 USD and that’s in the Chicagoland Area, but the company is out of Iowa.
What salary can you expect after exiting from an MBB after 2 years no MBA? Looking at strategy/operation roles in NYC and SF at FAANG and other tech companies (e.g. Airbnb, Uber, Lyft)
Has anyone quit a job and taken a couple months off before searching for a new role? I'm a mid-level litigation associate and really considering just walking away for a couple months. The lateral market is good where I am, but having a resume gap worries me.
We’re hiring an associate/junior planner at Digitas Boston! Listing is open on the website.
Is it sketchy to ask someone I know within a company to send my resume directly to a hiring manager when an external recruiter reaches out?
Currently, there’s another c-suite position available in my company and I’ve been told that it’s between me and a mother coworker. What can I do to improve my odds at getting this position?
Hi fish, has anyone heard of BBH Capital Partners? I’m pretty new to the PE scene but wanted to hear thoughts on brand, culture, pay, exit ops, etc. if anyone was familiar… not too much on Google
Given the ongoing PE on-cycle recruiting for 2023, do IBDs expect to have more lateral openings, specifically in the US? If you have heard internally about this information, could you please share the timeline of hiring laterals in 2022? Thanks!
Any business analyst looking for an exciting career with one of the top consulting firms of canada?
I’m 25 and have been working for the same bank for 2 years. Started as a call center agent and moved into a supervisor role. Love the company but the pay is barely enough, I work 8-10 hours of OT a week to make enough for rent and living costs in Toronto (would work more but there is an OT cap). Any leads on jobs I should look into? Would love to be making upwards of 75k ideally. I have a BA and have done some python and SQL courses
Has anyone consistently made money on Cramers recommendations? He seems to be more of an entertainer than a stock picker https://www.cnbc.com/2022/08/04/jim-cramer-says-to-consider-buying-these-8-stocks-now-that-commodity-prices-are-down.html
Any cute coffee shop recommendations? I’m tired of being in the house & want to people watch.. lol
I have an interview coming up with Church & Dwight. When the recruiter emailed me with 3 interview times I thought he was asking me what time works best. Turns out he was telling me I was scheduled for 3 different interviews for 3 different teams in one day. Has anyone heard of a company doing that or gone through this for an interview? It seems odd to me
Disgusted that the former partner of commonground will be speaking at an ad age event. What’s he going to say? Fire everyone over email, change your agency name and pretend like it never happened...
First year manager here. Looking to exit to industry but recruiter is trying to put me in a staff accountant role that is a pretty big pay decrease. They say it’s the only role applicable to my skills. Is this reasonable? I just really need to get out of public.
I'm a new Clinical Quality Manager at @united healthcare. I have close to a decade experience in the industry. I have direct reports. It's a remote position. Base salary of $104,500. Any thoughts on the salary package? Optum.

Anyone else just loves their partner so much?
I'm a year out of law school I have a staff of 10. However I feel I need more high level help. I need someone who can run client contact and figure out what we should bill for a project etc. ( I work mostly fixed price or monthly retainer). Is this an attorney? A great assistant? Who would this person be?

On men’s dress shoes: Being in the internal services side, a $500+ shoe sounds crazy, but all of my “value” shoes are disintegrating. Do the expensive ones last long enough to make them “worth it”?
How do I jump ship from FP&A? My dream job used to be education or something more creative and I want to make that switch.
Many of my my friends have trust funds, zero debt, parents pay their rent, even 6-figure settlements from their childhood. I don’t know how I am ever supposed to catch up to them financially; it feels like I am destined to always be 10 steps behind

Does anyone feel like they have good WLB as a sales engineer? If so, how did you create it?
Switching from commission to salary-only.
I’m considering a less sales-oriented role (supporting some post-sales). It doesn’t pay commission, ie. will have a higher base but less overall earning potential.
Would you consider this? What reduction in cash should be expected going from a variable to fixed compensation? For example, if you made $200k today, would it be realistic to ask/expect $180k (10% cut) + equity to make up the difference?

What’s VMware’s pre-sales solution architect (aka sales engineer) interview process like? What should I expect for interview questions? Thanks in advance!
Hey, I am appearing for a pre-sales engineer interview. It will be a sort of role-play demo session, where the team will want to understand how I present, how I manage a room, how I keep my audience engaged and also your technical abilities when asked regarding the solution. I have a liberty to choose any data science related product. I am essentially confused as to what product to choose, and how to structure the presentation. I would highly appreciate tips and suggestions. Thanks
Hey B2B pre-sales and post-sales engineers (SEs and CSEs). How do you collaborate on a customer who closes?
* Do you have one pool of SEs who do both pre- and post-sales?
* Do you have separate SEs and CSEs and a relatively hard handoff? (SEs aren't really seen again after CS onboarding?)
* Do you have some hybrid model where pre-sales SEs are still involved to some degree post-sales with CSEs?
Currently interviewing for a pre sales SE position and part of the process involves giving a mock presentation and demo. I have been given access to a sandbox environment but not a ton of guidance beyond that. Does anyone who has been through a similar process have any advice to share? I don’t come from a sales/ pre sales background so this is new to me.

What's the difference between Solution (Sales) Engineers, Customer Success, and Enterprise/Solution Architects?
Hey folks, I’m about a year into my new SE career and looking to continue to invest in professional skills. I’ve obviously been thrown into the fire learning the sales side of things, but what areas (technical skills, certs, books, etc.) you all would recommend I look to invest in? I’ve been looking at some beginner coding boot camps and scrum product owner certs, but interested in what you all have done to further advance your career
