What are S3s getting in Accounting Advisory in HCOL? I’m being paid 106k (above peer group), wondering if this is at market or if I’m being taken advantage of

I'd say that's severely underpaid if in HCOL.

Mate I’m making 103k as an FDD senior in Texas. Surely you can do better in a HCOL

PwC does. Lmk if you need a referral

What do you consider hcol? If New York or SF then PwC is 112. Boston/Chicago/LA you’re right on

like

SF salaries are all over the place. They had to give certain service lines massive raises just to compete with all the tech companies that exploded during covid.

Yep, would love to be higher haha

Can’t explicitly comment on salaries, but looking for senior-seniors/near managers. Let me know if interested in hearing more.

Is it wrong to invert/flip faces in social media posts?

My coworker who schedules content on our social media page posted an inverted photo of our colleagues on Instagram. When I looked at the image I wondered if she might have done it for a reason but I couldn’t think of one.

I know people think they look weird when they see their faces inverted in photos. So, I’ve always been under the impression that it’s not a good idea to do so. Am I reading into this too much?

I had an initial call with a recruiter and got turned down about 6-7 months ago. I was having a really bad day (just found out a relative had passed, more than normal work stress, ect) and just really had a tough time gathering my thoughts. I honestly should have rescheduled the call but I just didn’t really want to have to push it out and coordinate schedules again. Any chance I can get a second look? The career path aligns with my interests and my background is a great fit.

Where would you say the line would be for going advisory @ big 4 to an investment bank? Obviously depends on the firm but would you say you wouldn’t go to a firm under a certain size? I.e. I would love to hear your thoughts on if I should go from b4 to a boutique with ~15 people?

Just got through my first interview with EY for an experienced associate position in FDD. Throughout the interview process, they mentioned nothing about a case study. But now I need to take one this Friday. I’m not saying I care, I’m just not experienced with case studies in interviews. I never had one for audit, I never had one for consulting positions, but I need one for FDD. I’m not at ALL prepared for this case nor will my performance be a reflection of my potential. No idea what to do.

Hello!

Any advice on how to request a 20% raise? This is my first career out of college. I signed my offer letter knowing that I was being underpaid by 10%, as per the posted position salary. My 1-year appraisal is close and I would like to request 20% based on an increased workload; I would also like to make up for being underpaid my first year.

My dilemma: Many companies only pay up to a 4% raise. However, that will not cover much in this economy, and I would still be still underpaid.

Hi everyone, I am looking for ideas on how to pivot out of the usual month end close cycle. A remote job ideally. If you were previously in a similar accounting role and switched, I would love to hear about it as well.

My Accounting background is:

3 years GT Audit - manage small team, manage engagements,

2 years Industry Accounting - manage small team, improve monthly processes, month end close, reconciliations, generate financial reports, generate budget and forecasts
