Tips for working with a very big-personality Sales Director? He is a micro-manager-type that is always on you about things that is not his place, I want to tell him to stay in his lane so much. I am very much NOT that way and give my team lots of ownership/responsibility.

My boss the general manager is setting me up at work. She is saying all this stuff about me that is not true at all. But when I come into her shift or come into my shift after hers nothing is done for me. A lot of the prep is not done. And she complains about me not doing the prep. Stuff Is still dirty. One day she left the grill on. Etc. There was another manager there training to run another store and she said I basically do a lot of the work while she doesn't do much. So she stood up for me.

I just had my annual review with the company I’ve been working at for a year. During the review, I made my requests- one of which is to be promoted to Director of Marketing. (Which is what I’m doing already without the title) Now they are circling back and saying they want another year before promotion. And they want me to sign a non compete.
