Staying in the financial industry?
Thank you, just curious of the options available. I appreciate the gesture!
Depending on your company I've seen people move internally from finance to marketing, strategy, insights, sales. It's about networking and making sure your manager is a supporter of yours and willing to say "x wants to move to __" to help that happen.
Then once you make that move you can leave somewhere else.
Most people stay in finance though. Could always go back for MBA to make another pivot.
I moved to Process Engineering! Had some capital planning experience and they wanted my projects background.
Is it possible to pivot to consulting?
I have not seen it done without a MBA. It seems unlikely imo. If you're set on doing consulting then that's your easiest path.
But ask yourself what do you want to do after consulting because it's typically not a forever career.
